I'm about to go berserker on my neighbors who think it's ok to let their two little dogs (ones a chiwawa) pee in our yard. It would be one thing if appeared to be a random incident but this seems to be on purpose. First when they get home from work they let them run out of the house unleashed and the dogs beeline for our yard. Second the girl's Dad owns a nursery/garden place and they've been doing a lot of work fixing their lawn so they know the dog urine will ruin that work. Third they see us gardening as well and we just bought grass seed and we're trying to fix our burned patches via their dogs peeing.

Full disclosure: it mainly is concentrated to that area btw the road and the sidewalk directly in front of our house. But this is still our property and we maintain it. We also are unlucky to have a city fire hydrant there and we all know it's a dog's wet dream to pee on those. I'm livid because they see we are trying to fix their dogs damage yet refuse to control their dogs. Also how convenient they don't want the dogs peeing on their own fixed up lawn. I just know this is going to end ugly. Today I caught them peeing again and as I slammed my front door open to yell she quickly summoned the dogs and went inside her house to hide. So they have to know. Don't hide take responsibility for your pets.

Lastly one of the dogs got into our fenced in backyard two weeks ago. At one in the morning in the middle of the week. Instead of coming over and asking us for help they let it bark back there and debated loudly in their driveway about what to do, while calling it trying to get it to come back. We had to wake up, get dressed, and open the gate to let it out. I don't even know how the little shit got in. No thank you, nothing, they just turned around and went in.

Yeah I'm a race car in the red.....

If that doesn't work, go to phase 2 - number 2.

Though that'd probably just help their greens grow.

Sorry I don't have any real advice for ya, lixx...

It does sound like war's about to break out, and the only option you have to possibly avoid it is going over to talk to them with all the candor you can muster. They obviously know what's up, but may actually think they're getting away with it since you haven't actually spoken up. Yeah, I know; some people think backwards. But that's what I'd try first.

I've had to do it a few times myself, from a chronic 4am barker Right outside my window, to round the clock feuding neighbors. etc. And on most occasions found that they're actually apologetic and it stops. Some are so consumed in their own world that they're oblivious to how they're actions are actually affecting others. Sometimes, even those that you KNOW have been doing it on purpose. I think it's possibly because they don't want to risk anymore in face confrontation and now know you're willing to do it.

Whatever the reason, do your best to make them sympathize with you. You have caring for your yards in common and it's making it really hard to keep it nice. Milk that. Even if they're defensive at the time, hopefully the more they think about it, they'll relate, then stop allowing it to happen.

If that doesn't work, you're gonna have to get some kinda authority involved. I'm not sure where you live, but do you have a local homeowners association? You're going to want to take pictures of the damage and also perpetrators in action if you can.

Yeah I'm a new homeowner after living in city apts my entire adult life so I'm finally getting a chance to- you know do home owner stuff like garden, the lawn etc etc. It calms me. Strange things are about though. After the long snowy winter where we saw none of our neighbors, introductions are finally being made this spring. Ironically we've already exchanged welcoming gift plants with them (they thought of it at the same time we did-which was weird) but since then no contact. We are already warring with our opposite renter neighbors who do nothing but drink with their two obnoxious teenage daughters, have cook outs all day, accompanied with a mix of loud teenagers (underage drinking) and hicks who carry on till 1am. I hate parents who party with their underage kids and refuse to grow up.

Kim's already called the police and did a noise complaint (only because she approached them 3 times about the noise and it never worked) and now this guy is a belligerent asshole who loudly cusses about her all the time openly when he's drunk (which is all the time). Police did absolutely nothing and even though the phone call was anonymous they blame us. I thought about trying to soothe both of the situations out (by being diplomatic) but Kim won't let me because she feels I'll lose my temper and punch someone. She's not helping by being pretty belligerent and shouting sarcastic belligerent comments back at him. I'm between a rock and a hard place on all fronts.

My big issue is have a little fucking courtesy and not think the world is yours to do whatever you want. Be responsible. I'd never blast tunes into the night and let dogs (if I owned them) pee on my neighbors lawn. Hell I use to DJ in clubs in NYC and still have the gear to make a racket if I wanted but I'd never do that to someone within earshot in the wee hours. People just fucking suck. No wonder I'm a misanthrope.

EDIT: Yeah in my younger days I'd probably have pissed on their lawn, taken a crap on their porch, and destroyed their plants but I'm trying to be a grown up and not get arrested lol. I always tell Kim though: Being the honest good guy will always doom you to misery.

That's some tough stuff, man. They don't sound like they're just shitty neighbors but also shitty people. And if the cops don't care, what do you do? Do you have a local superhero team? Ha, I'm only half joking.

I have all sorts of funny "war" type ideas in mind, but don't dare suggest any of those. Especially now that we're in the adult world and cops will do more than take us home to our parents.

Well I hope that you can come up with some kinda solution, bud... Maybe something stealth could work?

I once solved our nightly street corner crack dealing problem with a well hidden bb gun from a dark attic window. True story. Damn, Savannah.

Call your council people consistently, complain and ask for help. Tell them you and your neighbors vote relies on it.

Document everything about said annoyance, times, dates and actions. Keep a log

Most cities have nuisance abatement officers. Contact them and ask for help.

Contact press in the area and tell them about the family that is selling and giving alcohol to minors. Local papers work best as they have nothing else to write about.

Finally, file a restraining order against them. This is where you continue to document the behavior and call the police at every whim. Cops can't do nothing anymore b/c it's their asses on the line now. Every time the neighbors get out of line, call cops and turn it into a harassment issue. Once the neighbors start going to jail, they'll stop. Or try to kill you. Either way, your worries will be over. Once the restraining order goes from civil to criminal, it's bye-bye neighbors.. for good.

you can try Coyote urine bought from Amazon. Squirt it all over their yard. Its a dog magnet, they will automatically be drawn to where ever you squirted and they will attempt to mask the sent with their urine. WEAR GLOVES when squirting.

Keeping a log is essential for contacting any kind of authorities. And absolutely call the cops on your other neighbors during one of their underage drinking parties. Cops in my suburban town LOVE to crash teen parties, especially when the parents are involved.

Thanks for the tips everyone. Some solid ones in there. One of the first things I told Kim was we need to document everything but I suspect that's fallen by the wayside. I'll get an excel file going. Things have sort of calmed this week but that has more to do with the inclement weather we've been having with a temp drop and monsoon-like rain. I'm sure they'll come up as it's getting sunny and warm again.

F U jerk jumping out in front of my car in the rain

I live in a nice up & coming area. Lots of new construction + a cool downtown area with some great bars & restaurants. There is a bridge dividing where decent people live from what can only be described as "the wrong side of the tracks". I typically avoid that area, but was forced to drive through there last night.

As I am coming around a turn, this fucking ghetto goblin runs out like he is trying to get me to hit him with my car. I swerve & start skidding as I hit the brakes... the roads were really wet & there is traffic in both directions, making this a really dangerous place for evasive maneuvers. I would ask wtf is wrong with this kid, but clearly he was raised by animals with no discipline or morals & has no future other than being a burden on tax payers, one way or another.

As much as I wanted to turn around & have a reasonable, rational conversation with this future aspiring rapper / social justice warrior, I had some place to be & did not have time to kill (literally & figuratively). Should our paths cross again, I will be certain to swerve into him this time, then back over repeatedly to make sure he doesn't jump in front of other motorists in the future.

Its a real fucking shame no one here was offered this or any of your other HxS, Gargamel, etc. collection. i guess we'll see where they all end up on IG's # tag paradise then, before becoming re-flipped fodder for some trust-fund baby.

par for the course around here..

Should we assume that you never bought anything from one of his board sales?

I think it reeks of sour grapes to criticize someone for selling desirable toys on eBay at this point. What's the alternative? Sell them on SB, spend some time dealing with flakes and low-ballers, maybe take a loss, and maybe see the toys flipped anyway? Plus, unless you were after the super-hyped stuff only, there were plenty of figures that went for reasonable prices.

    Shame on you.

Yeah RFSO died here a long time ago, can't really condemn people for wanting to attempt to get back what they can when they check out of collecting permanently. I know for a fact one of those toys he took a $700 loss on, even on ebay. If anything it serves as sad reminder not to over value your collection and don't pay hyped up prices in the first place on the new hot toy.

Yea, you can safely assume that. doesnt mean i never asked about it. If not me, then don't at least offer them to the community first, which got you to those toys in the first place.

It isnt about the toys in the end after all, is it?

I can safely assume the forum reeks sourly of hypocrisy when it comes time for someone to unload their super-hyped toys they get a street cred pass. Or, they get one anyways because most of you could actually give a crap about flipping.

Don't sit here and tell me half this board didnt have those toys bookmarked on their ebay pages either.

so, re-selling to get higher prices just because you're on the way out is cool? dont offer them to any friends, or thumb through a want list, etc..

    cool, noted.

Shame on you for questioning one man's opinion. When he's entitled to one.

fleaBay levels the playing field! . . . Too many cry babies and overly obsessive toynerds on Skulldrain 2015.

Sell it anything over retail and there will be a mob-riot and uproar about 'flipping' . . . . Sell it too cheap and someone will inevitably start whining about missing out, how they 'deserve' it more or some other passive aggressive bullshit. It's generally a lose-lose so I can actually see Scotts reasoning when it comes to finally cashing out!

$900 was only around 2x retail on the Pirate (4-5 years after the event and with virtually none showing up in the last 2-3) and seems like a pretty solid price when compared to the pricing that some of the fresh from the mold wannabe crap is selling for these days . . . . It was the $5k SDCC MG2 that was the big payday!

Fuck you USPS. I sold some comics on ebay, and sent them insured with signature confirmation. USPS claims that they delivered them, but did not bother to collect a signature for the signature confirmation. The buyer is claiming that the books never showed up. One of the folks at USPS said "Whether we got the signature or not, it is showing as delivered so we will not honor an insurance claim." Someone else said "Well we were supposed to provide that service for proof of delivery. Since we did not, you should file your insurance claim." I have had to make at least a dozen calls to three different branches, and got no response to an online inquiry. Looks like UPS will be the way to go from here on out.

I have to say I was a bit disappointed about not having been contacted first about the Killers set though, since we'd had a number of exchanges on the topic and he'd told me he would let me know if he got rid of it... But hey, I got it in the end at not too much of a markup. So all's well that ends well?
