Bruins are destroying the Canucks!!!!! Fuck Vancouver! 4-0 this period. OWNED.

Chara's hit on Pacioretty has zero to do with THIS game.... More damage was caused by the turnbuckle to him than the actual hit. Rome's hit open ice, leaving his feet, aiming for the head. Dirty.

That was CLASSIC! Thomas is one aggressive goaltender. Now the other Sedin got a 10 minute misconduct!

EDIT: 2:21 to go and Luongo is getting lit up like a christmas tree 6-1 B's!

Luongo is imitating swiss cheese to a tee tonight.
I've watched Thomas all season and can't recall him making a move like before. I guess the entire team is feeling it tonight. I guess having a teammate carted out on a stretcher will do that.

They haven't won it yet ultrakaiju. I'm sure they're are plenty of us who are jealous that you're in Japan though. Enjoy it. If the Canucks don't put it together for the next game it's going to be a long series.

Wow. Good game tonight. Tons of crazy hits, and Luongo getting lit up.

I hope that the B's can keep this up on Wednesday night.

The day of the game they'll offer at least one link to it. Not sure what the hockey feeds are like from them, but I use them a lot for soccer.

It's a late hit. As far as him aiming for Horton's head, that's not easy to do if your arms are tucked in. If Horton still had the puck, Rome would still get a penalty for a blind-side it. It's not the check that severely injured Horton. It's the impact on the ice. Only a handful of players can deliver an open ice check that can put someone out (Scott Stevens for one). Let's face it, this is the finals. Do you really think both sides are really going to play fair? As far as sides go, I'm not picking any. I'm loyal to my teams no matter how crappy they do. I'm not jumping on anyone's bandwagon.

I think that a lot of other teams would be playing a bit more fair than these two are. There is a lot of bad blood, and things are only going to get messier.

i'd rather see good teams with bad blood in a Stanley Cup final
than bad teams with good blood.

I'm hoping for an epic 7 game series.

may the last team standing win : )

I'm aware that the ice caused more damage to Horton then the actual check but he would not have hit his head on the ice if Rome had not blindsided him late! What replay are you watching btw gatchabert? CLEARLY visible is Rome's feet leaving the ice and thrusting his elbow straight into Horton's head?!

Also as far as me 'bandwagoning' as you say. I've loved the Bruins since Cam Neely days and Vancouver since Pavel Bure. I also like the Redwings, can't someone like more than one team? My opinion of this current Vancouver team has changed because of certain players like Rome, Burrows behaviour in this series.

The bandwagon statement was a general comment.
If he was really going for the head, he wouldn't have bothered to tuck his arms in. There's a whole bunch of videos on youtube. What you'll see is Rome's shoulder making contact. Sure his feet leave the ice, I wasn't doubting that. The elbow to the head...I don't see it. I see Rome's arm moving upwards after the hit, but no contact with the elbow, just his shoulder. Regardless of the technique, it was still a blind-side hit. You can call foul on everything else...whether or not it was a shot to the head, elbow up or not. It is still a blind-side hit.

Chara's hit on Paci...I still believe there was intent there. Chara pretty much rode Paci to that spot on the boards. You cannot tell me Chara was not aware of where they were on the ice because if you don't know where you are on the ice, you don't belong in the NHL. Here we see how the NHL treats it's stars differently from other players. While Chara got away with a slap on the wrist because it wasn't his fault Paci hit that part of the glass, putting him in the hospital, and breaking his spine, Rome will be fined and suspended because no one knows who the hell Rome is.

Maybe it's the follow through that makes it appear in my eyes that the elbow made contact with the head, but regardless the shoulder definitely makes contact with his face. That's intent to injure in my book, thus making the blindside hit dirty. Now I'm all about physical old time hockey, but to nail someone when they're not looking is a puss move. Yes Horton should have had his head up but .85 seconds is all it took for it to happen. You can even see his head start to turn just before Rome makes contact. Definitely late (well after he passed the puck), definitely dirty, and Rome should know better being a victim of this in the last series against the Sharks.

I've seen the Chara hit and it did not look dirty to me. Looked like he was trying to pin him near the boards and go for the puck. If anything the NHL needs to get rid of that partition. Seriously though if the hit looked dirty to me I'd say that was a piece of shit hit by Chara (who btw I think is just a over-rated big guy with not alot of mobility at all). Guess we just disagree.

We agree on a few things...Rome's hit is dirty, cowardly, and anything else you want to call it...and Chara sucks. I'd like the Bruins to win because I think Recchi deserves another ring...but at the same time, I don't want Chara to get a ring. You can blame Chara for the 2 losses...and I do. I'd never seen anyone slide to block a pass as awkward as he did. In the other game, he stopped moving and didn't really do a thing to Burrows.

The only thing illegal about the Rome hit on Horton was that it happened more than .5 seconds after Horton passed the puck, making it a late hit (interference). It was a north/south hit (blindside argument doesn't apply here, it does only with lateral hits), Rome tucked his arm in, and left his feet after making contact. Even NHL disciplinarian Mike Murphy said if the hit happened immediately after the puck left Horton's stick, it would have been a legal hit.
