I have met some amazing people and made great friends through toys and this board. I would be more than happy to give up my only version of the 1st bootleg toy to make amends and make things right. Toys unite not divide.

I don't want you to hate this guy or not buy his toy. If you like it you like. My dealings with him should have nothing to do with the toy itself. I just wanted to defend ourselves after the NNN dude personally emailed me to tell me that he made the I HATE MISHKA sticker and why.

He actually emailed me last night to tell me that he removed the sticker from the release. I guess this thread and maybe a few emails back and forth changed his opinion of us, who knows.

I really didn't want to come back to this again -
and most of the criticism on the last couple of pages
was from people who don't like the figure anyway -
but NagNagNag has no voice on this board himself
and there are two sides to every story, so here goes.

I DON'T KNOW the whole truth of what happened
so some of what I'm about to say MAY BE WRONG,
but there are definitely a few inconsistencies between the two sides here.

First of all there is NO "campaign".
Who started calling it that?

About the price:
Greg says he kept one, two other people were given one, and seven were sold.
Well, if that's right, that's $300 that was passed on to the consumer.
That's $40+ dollars extra per figure right there on the ones that were sold.

There were bank charges at BOTH ends, so you can at least double the $25 NNN lost there
(I think the Japanese banks maybe charge more?)
And, yes, a professional would know that there would be bank charges.
A professional would know that and pay them, or at least offer to,
not just ignore emails about the discrepancy.
This was NNN's first International deal on any level - he did not know.
A professional would also honor any additional commitments he made in connection with the deal in due time,
not scramble around trying to fulfil them once the shit hit the fans.
(In fact, a professional would not make commitments he couldn't fulfil in the first place).

I also saw the email to Paul Kaiju you mention, and I think you've overdramatized it.
Semantics, but : he wasn't "told" to "cap" his price,
he was "asked" if $200 was "OK".
If anything, the two prices should maybe have been the other way round.
I mean, at least Paul painted his.
Mishka basically got a finished product.

The thing about the Header Cards sounds almost the EXACT OPPOSITE of how I heard it,
(and this version makes more sense to me precisely because I know Lamour loved the figure.)
I actually heard it was Mishka who insisted on making their own Header card, against NNN's wishes,
and that it was NNN who wanted them printed in Japan as he has some connection with a Printer.
The part about the to-ing & fro-ing over the writing is correct,
and at some point I lost track so I don't know the final outcome but
again, I'm pretty sure it was NNN's initial plan (maybe Mishka's too) that they would indeed receive
a bagged & carded, finished product from Japan.

I've no idea what normal copyright payment would be in a case like this,
but that seems over the top to me.

Lastly, semantics again, but 'manko' means 'pussy' as in, um, 'pussy'.
Yes, it is used as a bad word in Japanese,
but only in the same way as 'c*nt'.
It doesn't mean 'pussy' as in cowardly or nervous -
that 'pussy' comes from 'pussycat' of course,
but I'm British, and we don't use it like that either.
It is a fighting word, but that never occurred to me at the time
... I honestly just thought it was funny.

To give people some context for Alice's signature, he sent me a PM the other day saying, "Kill yourelf," to which I replied, "Your spell check seems to be disabled."

I would guess that Alice is imposing his artistic vision on my PM to make a statement about censorship, although now that I'm rereading this message, perhaps he was suggesting that I kill my elf.

Unfortunately I don't own elves any more. They all died.

I disagree. If retail for this is around 15,000+ I don't see much difference between the prices of this compared to Anraku and Bemon.
