LOVE mini robot sofubi! Great collection...and beautiful photo! Roger, I believe Denjin made those mini GMs in three different color schemes. I have one somewhere and I think Ben Mininberg has one or two. They're very nicely done and much like Yutani Shouten's recent Transformers minis, they're almost indistinguishable from vintage figures in terms of aesthetic.
I wanna to buy more difference gudams but they are seems so expensive and rare now... As i know, clover sofubi gudam rx78 should had around 8 types.
Wow...8? Haha I'm not surprised though. I've seen a few different RX-78 sculpts appear here and there...and then sell for HUGE amounts! I'm happy with the common one that I have. I just wish the other Federation figures were more common!
Amazing collection! My love for said sofvi bots must’ve blossomed too late, because although I remain on lookout, the prices tend to be beyond me. It’s a stunning group, man.
Bringing this thread (and subforum it seems) back from hibernation- I finally tracked myself down a vintage Optimus Prime/Convoy soft vinyl figure in nice condition and wanted to post a little background I found about the vintage transformers soft vinyl toys from the mid 80s: https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Seven I’d like to track down all the vintage characters eventually, but we’ll see. Metroplex would be my most wanted after Prime.
I didn't know that those Transformers vinyls were released by Seven, I always thought Takara sold them under their main brand. There is a datafile about Seven on ToyboxDX: http://toyboxdx.com/datafiles/data/seven/
I’m going by the tfwiki that Seven produces the transformers vinyl, I don’t have any packaging of my own to back it up; however searching through mandarake I’ve seen listings for sold Transformers soft vinyl and mandarake also lists Seven as manufacturer.
Congrats on scoring Convoy, Phil! That's a great lil figure! As for the branding question, I actually have a boxed Metroplex, and I don't actually see Seven mentioned anywhere on the box (not that I can read Japanese!). There are Takara copyrights printed on the box, and even a sticker. On the back, there's a logo for Purple near the bottom. Wasn't Purple a spin-off of Seven? I'm pretty sure Purple did some of the amazing keshi from back in the day (not to be confused with the Decoys).
