Ok, so I got my incredible yesterday, previously had the Moto Droid.. which imo, was far better than any iPhone I've ever used... This phone blows the Moto Droid away.. As for Inc vs Evo... i think it's apples to apples... they both have some slight advantages over each other... both great phones... i think this debate all comes down to service... my verizon has NEVER dropped a call, and it only went out of 3G once in Cedar Point... All my friends with iPhones seem to hate AT&T.. My tattoo artist was totally dropped off the AT&T grid yesterday... Sprint.. I had sprint for years.. service was ok.. As far as 4G... how big is the actual coverage area?

So looking at specs, quality, and service, I have to hands down go Incredible on Verizon... Now if they iPhone ever comes to Verizon, and is customizable like android... then i'd be all over it... Evo is cool, but not on my carrier, and not revolutionary enough to make me switch

I'm actually considering an iPhone 4G for the first time ever for a few reasons: The video and camera look excellent. AT&T's plans are truly more flexible so low-use users like me can get a decent base plan. And changing the battery in this thing is really easy. Seriously, if I buy something I don't want to know in 4 years I have to toss it back to Apple for replacement.

The only thing keeping me back: Apple usually refreshes the iPod line in September. So if they upgrade the iPod Touch to match the new iPhone, I'd consider that in a second. Even better for my needs.

No new iphone for me today. :(

Our Apple store really screwed up the process...if you didn't have a pre-order (which was hard to do) you were pretty much out of luck.

Guess I'll wait until next week on the 29th.

why does that not surprise me?

I'm going after work I think. I'll see what happens. Worst case scenario we can drive to NH and get one. I doubt they're sold out up there.

    15+ hrs?! Congrats!

Yeah, that's about how long I was going to have to wait. I couldn't wait that long as work was calling.

I just got a text from the guy that took my spot and he was told that he's about 1 hr away from getting one (10.5 hrs in line + 2 hrs before store opening). I'm amazed that they had so many on hand!

Well, it beats sitting at home watching TV for 10+ hours.

    Yea dude, thanks.
I was fairly surprised that they had a lot of phones for walk-ins.

Here was the line like half hour before opening at 7, 200+ including walk-ins & reservations.
The had to turn away quite a few people for the walk-ins though.

It was well worth it as I went from this to this.

    ^ NICE!

I was told that there is still 200-300 in the walk in line at the Louisville store?! Not sure why they are not telling folks that there isn't enough or turning them away as they have been in line most of the day. I was told that there was about 100 plus the pre-orders for today.

I also heard a rumor that they had additional phones saved for Friday. I may swing by tomorrow and see what's what, but damn I need some sleep!

    So, funny story....

I tired to pre-order the new iphone a few days back and I never got a confirm email so I figured it didn't work as I heard others with the same issue. I just got off the phone with a girl from the apple store and she said that my pre-order went thru and that I can come pick it up tomorrow. :D

I wish I could somehow get the 6.5 hrs that I wasted back, at least I was in line with some cool folks.

My girlfriend and I have had our Incredibles for the past 3 weeks and are more than happy we switched. Better calls, NO dropped calls, much faster processor, etc. And not tethered to iTunes is a huge bonus.

Overall neither of us are regretting the switch.

Went to my local Apple store again today and they still had plenty of iphones (16 & 32 gigs). I was told that everyone that showed up yesterday got one up until closing and they informed them to come back today. There were about 20 folks waiting when I arrived and I was in/out in about 20 minutes!

No one would give out numbers, but about 2K showed up yesterday!

BTW, loving the new iphone...HD video recording is awesome and imovie app is very cool! I never thought I would be editing HD video on my phone!

Okay, WE GET IT, you have a girlfriend...

    ;p

On a serious note, any EVO reviews since this thread was last posted to? I'm thinking of getting one. The most important question: can I have "The Gonk" as my ring tone?
