Well, I am posting this because this is pretty separate from the Nag crowd, but if you're PO let me know. On to the good stuff...

A new Mandarake exclusive Gamerot is coming up, for anyone who is interested. Standard size (21 cm). Looks like a really nice figure, and an excellent paint job. I love me some clunky robot, and this guy is especially great. Odd choice for a lottery in my mind, but hey, why not. :)
    Good luck folks!

I've always found strange that on this board you could be burnt at the stake almost for real when talking about a lottery for a flipper toy and that no one cares when it comes to lotteries with almost equivalent limited runs but for unhyped greatness....

Well, this robot is great and the paint work amazing ! Which series is it from ? It reminds me of a Red Baron enemy.

He is from Gamerot (ガメロット I believe) from Ultraman Ace. There are a couple earlier versions of this sculpt from BM.

I too find it very weird about the standards, but hey, I am trying to support traditional kaiju anywhere I can. Burn away if you must. I say why not share and all of us enjoy

D'oh, that's what I meant, and you beat me to my edit after I realised the mistake. Daaammn you Toooooth!! <shakes fist in anger>

I prefer this version to the OG (but I would of course love the Mandarake one if only):

^^^ I'll trade you woopsies; the one you posted just above is the actual OG...
...and my favorite version! The Mandrake looks a bit fancy, and the version I posted a bit cartoony. I love how simple and dusky the first release looks. Very "classic."

Thanks for the heads up. I'd be happy with either version.

I think a casting of my nutsack would qualify as "kaiju" on this board.

Not very traditional, though, I'm afraid.

Yeah I knew I was wrong and some of you were a living encyclopaedia :D

I think ultra meant by "traditional Kaiju" that it came from a real kaiju show from long time ago, compared to recent originally designed monsters.

But you are right, everything is called kaiju around here. This one is more a giant robot than anything else.

Yeah, I never call giant robots kaiju. He def has very interesting arms, they'd look weird if you rotate them....he's a great clunky robot, those are the best kind.

Haha...I know what Steve was saying. I'm just a dick. ;)

Anyway, I think the general rule is that even if it's technically a robot, if it shows up in some sort of tokusatsu production alongside other kaiju (and not just enemies of the week), it's still a kaiju. That goes for Mechagodzilla, Mogera, Mechanikong, Jet Jaguar, etc...

So super sentai robots may fight a different kaiju every week, but they still fall under the "robot" category.

Yeah, what a tough job they have... and they don't get the special Kaiju prime at the end of the week the others get...

So here the content of my lucky bag, I expected one painted out of three, but the three are painted O_O

The Noman is GID with some silver paint on the belly, a very nice improvement from the 1st release, the Spectreman is the most amazing so far with his dark brown spray, and the Silver Robo is black with a thin overall gold spray. I could not expect better 8)

And I got the latest release along : Kumo Kaiju, it's HUGE !

That is definitely a very nice version of Spectreman. I really dig the traditional paint style and colours.
