Get your paints fired up boys (and grrrrls!). BLObPUS will have a custom show at the Ghetto in Japan end of Oct. This week they are offering up clear blanks to be submitted for the show. Customizers outside of Japan can get them at lulubelltoys.com. Prices are $40 and $55 for the DX. 5 winners from Japan and 5 from abroad will be picked to join in the show along with a long list of who's who in the painting world. All entries outside of JP will be submitted to info@lulubelltoys.com by no later then the first of October. Hurry though, time is running out. All sales will stop on the 8th of June. Submissions will be due by the first of Oct.
I was wondering the same. The clear version already looks cool as it is. I'd love to customize one of these.
I completely forgot about the innocent clear blobs. I wonder if there's a difference in quality/transparency of the vinyl between the innocent and diy blobs... and if so, would it be subtle enough to be considered a re-issue. any amount of subtlety I suppose would probably still require a collector to have both toys side by side to differentiate.
Sorry if this is a total newbie question, but are there any specific rules for a contest like this? Buy the figure, paint the figure, submit the pictures? Are there any guidelines for the photos or anything... I also assume the figure cannot be modified in any way?
Totally valid questions, the long and short is do whatever can. Make something that melts brains. Good clear pics help.
I'm going to cram mine full of squid from the local fish market. actually I have a few ideas that might be cool and hopefully one gets picked up. We'll need to have a thread with the progress pics or end results!
Soooo... who else has gotten their clear Blob from lulubell? Can someone translate the instruction sheet, which is still totally in Japanese?
Ok, so the rest of that paper's just not important? I didn't get the DX, so I don't have to worry about installing the innards... gotta start brainstorming. Can the entries be posted outside of the contest? Or is there some kind of exclusivity?
