I was giving away free Morrissey tix earlier, and hardly anyone responded. Anyway... I vote for the following: 1. FIGHT FIGURES forum 2. Pug forum 3. American Genius Kozik forum 4. Everything else
I sent it out text requests to the usual suspects and got two takers only. Tix were gone by teh time I got the second response. If it helps, I'm not going either. I got a $100 bill last month for all teh extra texts (over my bundled 200) I send out en masse for freebies - so I decided only to send texts to those poeple I think will be into into the show - totally didnt think you liked morosey. How was HateBreed?
i think the subforums should be: 1. clear 2. solid 3. gid 4. glittery and each subforum with their own set of subforums for each color of the rainbow. except, well, for gid, which would be green glow, orange, and blue? and maybe that glow red spray that dead presidents used on the chaos beast....
Screw this shit. Let's keep it simple. 1. stuff I like 2. stuff I hate (so I'll never have to see it again)
I guess with a contracting customer base and marketplace, this was inevitable. Plus in terms of running a business, it could be genius. Get those only interested in one brand (potentially) to traverse a broader range of topics, and possibly create new interest....redirect some of that expendable income to more toy lines. I for one will definitely be checking on the SB news more often. (just kidding about the SB part)
Basically, it divides everything up too much, this is one scene, so let's show it all. Going to 4 sub forums just to figure out what is going on drives me crazy. Whatever the latest is, whether it is gargamel, Rxh, anraku or whoever should be at the top of the forum. We basically took a lot of the bigger hitters out of the mix of the overall discussion with the sub forums, so we are putting them back in. It is still the biggest forum by far.
Ouch! This is pretty terrible for those of us with specific interests and limited time to check on them. I know I'll really miss the days of popping on quickly to check and read updates. Sad to see that feature go as it really cuts down on stopping in for a quick diversion, for me at least. It feels really disorganized and cluttered but I guess it's not like it's going to change, so oh well... Is this going to happen to all of the categories eventually?
Hmm, I have been looking at other forums with many subcategories like music genres, computer and web design. it seems to work better than how it is now. I really thought it could be ok, but I think having a list of top 15 brands as sub cat then have one more as "others" would be a lot better in hindsight.
How about these categories 1) Marmit 2) M1go 3) everything else personally i think the change is great mix it up!
Only you, Joe and Muton suffer that problem . . . the rest of us have at least a modicum of self-control . . .
Someone mentioned tagging the posts- If thats not something the forum can handle I suggest that maybe as a group we decide on 2 Letter abbreviations of different companies that we can add into the thread subjects so people can see what threads are about what, so instead of: "What is this?" its "SB: What is this?" or something similar anyways. personally though I don't think this is going to make that much of a difference, like the mods said, RxH, SB and Gargamel haven't been generating a huge amount of new posts to browsing for new threads won't be too bad, its the older stuff that is the thing. Phil
One thing that's nice is not having to go into RxH, (and SB and Gargamel) and mark each of them as "read" - now I just read the threads in one forum and click "mark as read" once.
I think it's an improvement so far. Quickly scan the section for threads of interest and move on. No more of the in-and-out of subforums. OCD types will probably freak out cause its all mixed together.
