I was just flipping through the Super7 mook and saw that the "penguin" logo is listed in there. Whoops!
Just wanted to add this foot and belly marking shot of the Ark dino akum6n posted. Anybody have any more shots of Ark dinos? I have become very interested in this line and have not seen any on YJA since this one over a month ago.
Found another picture of some Ark dinos. I want these in a big way. Anyone have any luck finding out more info on this line?
Anyone know anything about this guy? Here's the header. It looks a lot like this guy here from vintagevinyl.
@ Joe...I recognize that header for the dino figure...I think I've seen it on bootleg Mirrorman figures.
the only way this daikyu dino stands is in the keep on trucking pose . did you sell all those dinos joe ?
Thanks for the info. It indeed does share the same header as the bootleg Mirrorman. Those were picked up for a fellow board member. She also shares a love for dinos. Just got this guy in. What a great sculpt w/ all the texture and details. Really wonder who the maker is as it's not marked. It just has ridges on the bottom of the feet. And thanks to akum6n for the heads up on this. Seems to be from the same maker w/ the same feet markings. Wonder how many other versions there are out there. I know there's a Purple version of this guy.
Don't want to derail the thread, but it is somewhat on topic. Soon someone is going to be releasing the "LAST" dinosaur vinyl you will ever need... http://www.m1go.com/news/info/i091007.htm
Oh man that is a fantastic release! If M1 made all those dinos and cavemen it would be the best. However, I would beg, beg M1 for a Richard Boone mini figure!
Random finds... Interesting mechanical walker dinosaur vinyl. Set of Marushin mini dinosaurs. I have never seen these sold in a 3-pack. The seller just whipped them out while I was purchasing something else... and then he told me they were for sale! Totally blew me away.
Very nice finds. I love standing triceratops' and the 3 pack is great. Great blog post on Marusan, Marushin, and Marusin. Don't know if the relationship between these companies will ever be fully understood, although searching through old catalogs might shed some light on the subject. I have to disagree with your assessment about Marusin paint schemes. That is one of the reasons I love this line. Even if they are "horribly drab" there are always many oversprays that often include metallic hues. And don't knock the Brontosaurus...I think his face is great and the metallic blue and silver sprays look wonderful.
Bah, in package. Jealous. Wait, I have that one already. Mm, still jealous. Very nice score, and thanks for photographing the packaging. Too bad they didn't make all the ones on the back. Or maybe they did and we just haven't found them...
Check out his link to a fantastic collection of Aurora Prehistoric Scenes model kits, paperwork and prototype stuff on display at the Kruger Street Toy & Train Museum in Wheeling, WV: http://toyboxdx.com/phorum/read.php?5,211538 Just amazing!
^ That's a fantastic collection! I wonder if the artist he mentions, "Dave Cockrum", is the same one that co-created and drew the new X-men. Edit; It is! Here is a link where he's interviewed and talks about them along with some pics. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=9055
