MIB #3!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyaFEBI_L24 Have been waiting for this to come out. Hope to catch it this weekend, if I can pry myself away from work. P.S. Love the goldfish! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoyV49Ff ... ure=relmfu P.P.S. Hungry anyone? http://www.wusdiamondgarden.com/
If anyone cares or hasn't been as of late, I was just at your MoMA and they currently have a plethora of excellent exhibits up at the moment. Well worth the $19. The Logan collection is especially impressive and strong. If there was ever a time to make it to the museum, I'd say now is as great a time as ever. Thanks SF
Gee... this thread hasn't budged! Hellooooooooooooo out there!!! Is everyone still hibernating? Whatever happened to late night ice cream binges, flashy thunderstorms, earthquakes, and kitties chewing on your latest Buta acquisitions? Not to mention the odd hockey game or two or sushi at J-town? Ah well... if anyone is listening, can you tell me if you've visited the Terracotta Army exhibit yet? http://www.asianart.org/exhibitions_ind ... a-warriors I was thinking of going, but have heard mixed reviews. It's a very small exhibit apparently... some photos here http://www.sfgate.com/art/article/Terra ... to-4259844 Is it worth going to, or should I drive up to Davis to see the Ceramic's Sculpture exhibits...
I've seen the terracotta warriors...but then that was probably 30 years ago in a different country. I kind of believe that they aren't much different from years ago so if you've seen them before, then there is probably no need to see them again. One thing I do remember is that the exhibit I saw was a little bigger. The museum even made a pit that had about 24-30 warriors in a grid/square formation as well as free standing ones like in the sfgate pics. I remember thinking "Well...there they are...what's next..." and I will probably think the same thing if I saw this exhibit again.
Thank you Bert! That seems to be the trend these days. Most countries are really putting a limit on what art/artifacts they will allow to travel. I remember seeing the Tut exhibit when it came around, a loooooong time ago (stood in line for 8 hrs. with my brother, to get tickets from the old defunct "GoodGuys", in the back of Emporium, in Stonestown, oh so long ago!). It was worth the long wait for tickets, the original exhibit was stunning as is forever burnt in my memory. The recent Tut exhibit was a total let-down, only about 25% of what was originally shown, reappeared, and the gold mask will never leave Egypt again. Can't say I blame them--too much risk involved in the transport of these precious things. I think I'll opt out of the Teracotta exhibit, since it's so tiny. ...by the way, do you get enthusiastic about anything? You're always sooooooooooooooo mellow! By the way, if you haven't tried it, Craftsman and Wolves in the Mission, makes a very nice choc chip cookie, with a dash of salt (really brings out the flavour!) http://craftsman-wolves.com/ ...perhaps the sugar high will get to you
working late at night, and catching up on stories at the same time... http://snapjudgment.org/ the cleaning crew came in earlier, and gave me a very "puzzling" look. I was hunched over the sink, giving a gentle bubble bath to two Popy Kanegons (they were quite dusty!) and a whale . Got to find my camera tonight! ...anybody else doing anything at this moment?
I just got home from hockey a few minutes ago and just catching up on SB and FB posts. Wondering if I should take the bookshelf that someone might be throwing out. My main problem is that it is a lot of work to take the old stuff out and put in the shelf...and I'm not even sure if I will have more space once I'm done.
Well it is Africa-Hot in Pleasanton tonight! Makes it hard to stay awake and work . We have top floor offices, and you can actually open the glass doors and walk out on to a patio! Sadly there was a dead bird by the sliding door. It must've flown into the glass poor thing . Had to open all of the doors and put down the shades (while it was still daylight) so the other birds don't fly in. Too hot to wash toys tonight ...where are you Bert? Playing hockey again?
Hahaha...I play on Tues and Thurs nights but some days I have to help coach a hockey clinic. The back rest on my chair is broken so it's hard for me to sit at my desk for long periods of time. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as the last time I broke my chair. All I had to do was replace the bolt. This time, it is the welds that are broken. I've had to look for a welder and my Yelp search brought up places like Buca di Beppo and House of Prime Rib (WTF...). I am lucky enough that one of the guys I play hockey with, can weld but I won't get it back till next week. My chair is from this era: but is made of steel, not aluminum...and is REALLY ugly in color. I've been sitting on it since 1997 at the retail store I used to work at. When the shop closed, I took the chair (along with a few other things the boss said I could have) and I've had it at home since 2003. I should figure out how to re-upholster it... Here's the break:
How can anyone sleep with 24 hour cuteness available? http://d1236.xipcam.com:1002/main.htm Login as "guest" p.s. by night, it's black and white (low lighting conditions), but by day, it's in color 7/26/13 Update: Kittee Cam is offline until their "slave" can figure out a way to protect the camera cables from being chewed by curious kitten minions
Working late... again... but listening to an amazing story of a 23 year old young man, who literally walked across America! http://transom.org/?p=33988 Walked to California (entirely by foot, and did not accept rides), went through 5 pairs of shoes, spent under $1000, duration of walk was just under a year! A really inspiring and true story! Hospitality, kindness, and faith still exists today
another late night, but the creatures in the African bush are keeping me company... http://www.ustream.tv/petespond
Every night is a late night for me. I just don't go to sleep till the hours of 2-4am. I'm usually up drawing/painting or playing a game.
