I agree with your point about low prices effecting everyone - and if u look back at many posts I've made you will see I have stated just that...and in fact did it just earlier today in the BST 'wing thread in my agreement with Ben Promoetheum's comments. So no disagreement fomr me with your premise. The solution is not to sell at that ultra low price, stick to your guns and dont get lowballed. If everyone did that, then one abberant low price would not impact the (ugh) market. I'd agree more with you on that if the title of the thread wasnt "Douchemove101" and it being 90% about Scott's sale
well i'm bummed... didn't get the MB i wanted, which would have helped my MB collectiong\ grow one more from proto complete.... went for the most too... what i'm worried is.. that it could have gone to some guy with tons of money.. who thinks it would go for lots later in the future... sigh..
seems kind of odd that there is bitching and moaning here and elsewhere that SB does not have enough bitching and moaning to go around. In fact, I believe there is another forum dedicated to bitching and moaning about SB. So when the odd member shows up to I FART A LOT and moan, I find it amusing. if you can't be enthusiastic and passionate about toys here, then where?
Re: Douchemo 101! Well, I just "won" some of Scott's Kubrick's just for fun and to help him out because I know he is funding the new vinyl manufacturing deal. I don't collect Kubricks but I'm sure a few of my kids will love them for Christmas in their stockings. Scott is awesome and he is one of the classiest folks I've met. This is an interesting thread and quite hilarious here and there. I think Andy likes to keep things that way - He is a very entertaining poster.
This is a great point. I didn't think anyone was nailing Scott to a cross. I think if any of us brought such a large cache of toys to the market that way there would be some sort of reaction. Discussion doesn't negate what positive things Scott has done in the past. I think he knows that, no? I'm trying to kid glove this, since the pitchforks and torches seem to be out if the party line is crossed. I actually thought about taking an extended break after this thread got so defensive. However, if I am to agree with the idea that "Toy Karma" builds up and can be used to offset what some may see as odd moves...then a guy like Carl could flip toys with impugnity, no? Oprah just gunned down some asshole behind Harpo studios and the cops just looked the other way!
Its happening as you speak Lorne. I recently hacked someone's ebay account and sold one of my extra nags, although I've been having trouble moving stuff through my David Borne ebay account and my various Yahoo Japan seller accounts. The economy is killing my flippin' business and I think something needs to be done about it - starting with canceling unemployment pay. Oh - adding a - just in case. I once made a joke about me being the alter ego of a famous ebay flipper and a few people took me seriously. On a happy note - I scored some awesome stuff and amazing deals in Scott's sale, but also missed out an unpainted clear blue Oozebat. But one'll turn up when I least expect it I'm sure.....
I've had nothing but great dealings with you Scott. We all want to see Bullshark become a success. You have our full support.
You can look as long as you don't touch! My wife might have something to say about that . . . you saucy old dog!
Good to see you still around, Scott! I hope that you're able to talk more about Bullshark here as things develop. And regarding the name Bullshark - I like it. It's like a nod to Bullmark, but with a Floridian twist!
I couldn't think of a better name then "Bullshark" honestly. It's simple, it has some meaning to it on a few levels, and sharks are awesome as hell! Sounding like "bullshit" is good too, seeing that all things toys is bullshit anyway. We need more shark kaiju now that I think of it.
The birth pangs of new American vinyl... Whattya mean SB is gonna be under new mgt.? Are we gonna have banner ads and shit ?
I'm just disappointed my email was ignored. I would have offered more money for the toy I wanted if given the chance. On the other hand, thank you for ignoring me. I ended up getting it for less than I expected.
