They totally just used the chest and arms from the Robin Mask sculpt, but the proportions look fine. They really need to do a new character. King the 100 would be a good place to start.
Absolutely! I dig it. Didn't you mention they had a Geronimo in the works? I'd *love* to see him. And figures YOU'D ask for a King the 100 Ton!
That is what they said, but I have not seen any recent updates. Heading out there in a few months, so hopefully going to work out a site visit. Just got this little guy in the mail today:
Hey guys...I know this isn't technically FiveStar related, but I've been doing a side-fun-thing with my MUSCLE toys and thought maybe some of you who are into the stuff being discussed in this thread would enjoy a look. No big either way. http://muscle.hateball.com/ http://muscle.hateball.com/toys/all/ I scored a bunch of the vintage kinnikuman keshi that were at the Gargamel booth and I'm thinking about shoot them as well and putting them upon this site too...but unsure when I'll get the time. Anyhoo. I've got a few of the red/black FS sets coming my way from Kin29 and I can't wait to check 'em out in hand. I'm sure photos will follow.
Man, you took some great pics! Really dig what you are doing there. I think a lot of MUSCLE/Kinkeshi collectors would be fans of your work for sure. In other Kinnikuman news a few goodies I got in the mail today...
Say whaaaaaaat??? That was awesome....however, whenever I click on any of the dudes to go to their individual page, the huge closeup image has the top part cut off. I'm on Chrome, so I'm guessing it's a browser-specific thing. Anyway, I love the concept! And yeah, I'd love to see some vintage kinkeshi in there (especially figures we never got here...like Satan Cross's little up-the-pooper-dude!). Tyler, those figures look absolutely killer, man...I'm jealous!
Thanks for the feedback...it's actually a 'your screen is (probably) much wider than it is tall' issue...but I can fix for it. Yeah...hoping to be able to shoot these vintage dudes soon...here's a (link to a) group shot. http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/hateball/7 ... 714129956/
Whoo! Akuma Shogun and Kinnikuman look great! I didn't realize AS could be posed with his arms like that... is it a ball joint? I might have to track one down now for sure.
Ah, makes sense--I'm on my stylish laptop at home. I'm sure it'll look fine on my work desktop. Nice! I'm not an expert in kinkeshi, but are those the "Dekakeshi" figures? They seem more detailed and less SD in proportion. I'm sure the LRG guys will love your site! [Hi Phil! Hope you had a decent ride back from MA!] Nah, I had to check my AS to be sure, but it's definitely just a normal vinyl swivel joint: it's just cut at such a particular angle that when you rotate the arms, they go out instead of up! Beware, though, AS is one helluva shelf-hog!
hey guys....happy Friday. A few things. Sanjeev: thanks for noting the error in the way the images on my muscle site were being displayed on other-than-gargantuan screens. I believe I have the issue fixed and you can now get all the way down with them. All the way down. Additionally—as teased earlier this week—I've gone through and shot the 'vintage' keshi I picked up at SDCC. Please enjoy. The 'great' Buffaloman and (what I'm calling) 'haunted' Teapack man are of special note...though there are some other coolies. http://muscle.hateball.com/toys/miscellaneous/ Anyway...hope you guys are digging. I've yet to really put this out there on any other Muscle- or Kinnikuman-centric sites...if any of you are members on any of those and think it would be received well there, please feel free! Word-ums. However... Still broke. Sadness. My lappy 9000 has a resolution of 1366x768. Dunno if that helps...
Right on, man. Fixed! Joy! I guess even after shift-refreshing a couple times, my browser was still holding onto the old format. *Several* shift-refreshes, however, somehow cleared the cache properly and now it's good!
It is actually your standard sofubi roto joint. Because his shoulder armor is a separate piece, (and at an angle), his arms rotate up like that.
Wolfman Bubblegum Pink Toyful exclusive. Pre-sale up in 5 mins! Limited to 29 figures. http://item.rakuten.co.jp/toyful/100048 ... =rm_263429 They just sent out the email on this late today. Got my order in quick this time
So...everything you're SAYing is resonating wildly with me...however, I can't see your image. What character? (Checked the FS site as well...no luck.)
Thanks for the update! Yeah...looks totally awesome. I'm stil pining for another Neptuneman or Unmasked Warsman release...Meantime, I am blowing up all the usual suspects on the LRG shop list trying to flesh out my collection. Need to spend about a day photographing things...Ugh. J
I remember thinking of making a mix when all the single Robin colours were released (Was it Robin? Or Warsman?) and here it is. Looks pretty sweet although the fact that the colours are random makes me wish for other colours added to the mix instead of black.
Huh...I don't recall a Kinnikuman on black vinyl...but then again, the chest could have been reused in another figure...
