do you ever think big league nag collectors put them all in a kiddie pool and roll around in it naked?
I dunno, that sounds like it would imply far too much fun being had. Almost like these were toys or something. Which anyone qualified enough to collect Nag/Bemon/HxS knows they clearly are not.
there are also concerns of safety the last thing you want is to cannon ball and land on ass up is a kougai that's upside down
What's up with TAG doing consignment sales? Is that a new thing, or have I just not noticed until a few weeks ago?
Why is this in the Fuck You thread? Consignment is essentially how every gallery or art show works. To answer your question though, it seems like a new thing that TAG is doing as a way of offering products at a new location (someone else's shop).
I don't believe they're being offered at a new location? Just collectors selling their own stuff through TAG.
Yeah, I think you're right, I misunderstood one of their posts. Looks like it's their same location they've had for a while. I figured it was a new way for artists to sell their toys, but it must be collectors judging by the posts. Interesting move by TAG. I wonder how much they are selling for?
I was told the seller for one of them is accepting offers. I hope my choice of thread makes more sense now
Yeah, I understand now. But...how bizarre. Why not sell it yourself if you're accepting offers? The only reason I can think of is selling through TAG for anonymity. Which will inevitably cause backlash. I've only had good experiences with TAG but this seems a little odd. I love the idea of a sofubi consignment shop but if it's just people accepting offers on pricey toys then count me out. Very interested to see how this plays out.
He’s also selling on eBay, and a dedicated IG account. Something like GGarage sale or something. Could have deleted it or changed it now they are using TAG and “consignment” as the sales method.
Super tacky, everyone knows you need 3 because they display best in a triangle formation, that dumbass.
The dude is a real fan and a good photographer. Maybe this is just a cultural divide between east and west but it always strikes me as "nah nah nah boo boo I have more than you". If you have the money and the desire to drop 6 figures on toys that's fine. And I don't blame anyone who is in some level of financial distress cashing out behind the scenes because some rich dude throws stupid money at them. We all think "3 grand for a $500 toy is nuts", but it is all proportional. If I was worth 5 million 3 grand ain't a big deal. Hell, most of our friends think us hoping for the chance to drop huge amounts of money on a toy from an artist is crazy. But buying two of them? Multiple times? At a certain point you should have the self-awareness to realize you are depriving others of the art you say you love just so you can hoard things like Gollum. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
