The work for this show is fantastic! So bummed I'm not gonna be able to make it to there. I'd love to see all of these in person. I saw my coloring contest entry got to FOE today and was happy to see it up on facebook since I didn't take a pic of it myself. The idea came from my 21 month old son. When I showed him the uncolored entry form and asked him what Garamon was, he said "Christmas tree". I had to go with that:
my submissions for the gallery: gararymon greeting cards set of 2 cards + color matched envelopes thank you & congrats valentine’s “my gara-lips are yours” diy speech bubble & lines gararymon test sample and in progress, a part of the salarymon series 6" x 6" hand-screened prints, set of 3 — explores the what-if scenario of garamon as a mid-level corporate manager in the modern world “whitey castle” “my bm” “wallowmart” “not the mash-up you’re looking for” 14" x 14" hand-screened print “ready for my close-up” 5" x 5" optical photo print my coloring entry: pop-up garamon! also: i know this is very last minute, but by any chance is there anyone driving through or near chicago on their way to foe? could i hitch a ride? i'll chip in for gas, hotel, food, etc.
All of these submissions to the FOE show are great! I would love to go to the show and see all of these in person. WANT! Is this a 1 of print or are there multiple prints available?
^ that's a one-off test print that ended up being just right, so i sent it off to the gallery. i have two other test prints, but they went into the fail pile. i definitely plan on printing a run if people are interested, though!
It looks like I am not going to be able to head out until around 5 tomorrow. That should put me in Northampton around 630-700, depending on traffic. Who else is going?
that's exactly what I was thinking! Here's the two that I dropped off to FOE last night... And I got a sneak peek of some of the pieces for the show. It's seriously going to be AMAZING!!! I can't wait for Friday!
Thanks, James! yeah, the top one is wood. It's super sloppy and will most likely be best used as firewood. The bottom one is done on a piece of brown grocery bag. It was definitely a fun little project.
The more I see what's going to be at the show the more I web I could go, it's one event I should be at. So many great things people have made and painted!!!
