Looks like the next Medicom-produced Mazinger Z villain, no?

The last one they released was Rokuron Q9, I think. All *amazing* figures...that no one seems to talk about on skullbrain...

Well, that's not quite true, though you aren't exactly wrong either, Sanjeev. In the same way that we were just discussing this over in the Marusan thread, we are just quieter and talking about it more amongst ourselves these days I think. The principal focus of the board has shifted significantly in recent years, especially as the hobby has exploded, but there still some dudes stuck in their old ways here and there, and grumpy as we may be, we like what we like, and no one can tell us different. So anyways, giant robots and kaiju FTW!

^^You got it, Steve. Like I said, excellent figure...they're just a bit of a pain to track down on the aftermarket sometimes. I now monitor Medicom's website fairly regularly to make sure I don't miss anything. They just announced Abe Toru's Getter Poseidon (to complete the trio) and Getter Dragon Shine Spark version (GID!!):

But getting back to Peter's question, it actually looks like Gelbros J3 is a Mandarake-produced figure in the style of the vintage Popy Jumbo Machinder villains! Pretty amazing:

Yeah, it was the jumbo size that struck me unlike the other releases.
Would love to see it along side a vintage Dabulas M2.

This guy is an incredible beast. (I hate to imagine what the shipping costs would eventually be for a lot of folks, especially with that box - which is fantastic!) I would really love to enter the lotto for him. The execution in taking a wonderfully designed vinyl toy and bringing it up to 'jumbo' size is incredible; the one thing I am really wondering about is how the softness of the material will impact this guy with his size and weight. We have already seen some large toys susceptible to this. I don't know if they are using any kind of support inside, or maybe using really strong/thicker vinyl, but in either case - if they are - the price doesn't reflect an 'upgrade' in materials. In fact, forget that, for what this guy is, the ticket price is an incredible bargain no matter how you look at it. You can't even come close to that for comparable sought after figures, or limited releases like this. Anyway, a really wonderful toy; one I would be over the moon to be able to take home. best of luck to everyone who enters, I hope to see some photos of one of these fellas in a lucky SBer's hands.

There really needs to be a kitten in the frame for scale.

Wow, I have never seen that before. And now am so glad that I did. Thanks Sanjeev! So odd, it look like very typical of a South American bootleg, but is actually licensed. I am not sure I understand the gun component; it appears like maybe it might shoot the figure, as a launcher via the attached backpack, but how it 'fires' (spring-loaded internals maybe?) is a mystery; such a weird - but cool - mechanism to use for the toy. The packaging also seems to suggest maybe more from the series. I wonder how they ever thought up this guy (or how/if he ever passed quality control)? A cool toy indeed.

A buddy of mine told me about these figures; yes, there are a few of 'em! Pretty crazy! He said he had one or two, but they were utter and complete crap. Shocker!
