^^^ Hey Boo - fooled ya! That's the SF Kara's bod and the US Kara's head One of the many joys of having a Grody collection is that having a brand new cast of characters is just a hair dryer away! Nine toys temporarily ruined
Great photos as always D! Love the mashups and you always seem to find the perfect backdrops for these guys. Fun toys make me happy.
Night of the Living Grodys? Because no one asked for it... here's a characteristically indulgent number of photos of all the toys I ripped apart to make the mashies from the above posts, seen here deDumptied and reanimated back to Luke's original specs. Prefer natural light?
Okay, I waited over a week... Almost all* of the above were cut, assembled, painted and packaged by one man in the first six months of Grody Shogun's public existence - 2011 represent! * Ilanena painted up the third Oji over; and KK Andy and crew, as detailed below, did boatloads of work on the Monster Kara on the right! Giant props to Lulubell Amy as well
Well, almost. We did all the packaging, packing, shipping (and some assist with the assembling) for the KK releases. But Luke certainly did the lion's share of the work on the figures. The painting was all the Grody meister himself. Nice pic! I'm definitely partial to the earlier releases too.
Thanks Andy, and pardon the oversight - text revised! I'm happy to monopolize this page... but Grodys are changing hands every day around here so lets see some more pics, people!
Just realized the Attack of the Killer one is missing, where did that booger run off? Plus I ordered an army green one yesterday, and David might one day send me a Squeaky Wheel. The troops are incomplete! Also I need blockhead versions of the following, if anyone wants to get rid of them (no skinny legs!):
Great scores. I'd love to see a larger shot of that trippy kara. Looks like it has a lot of awesome "substance" to it. Ha, I don't know how else to say it.
The Grody To The Max show opened at GR2 today, lots of fantastic pieces (some are posted on Luke's instagram) and Luke also made these great Otanoshimi bags. Each bag contained mixed body parts - painted and unpainted - from all types of Grody monsters, Ojis, EnMan, Karakuri, seagools, Miki...too many items to mention. There were a few fortune cats, bunnies, ultrus bogs and young gohst parts mixed in. debparis1 Instagram .
