Just saw this, and I am Really impressed. Ha, not that I expect anything less of Amazing from a Lamour Supreme and a Healey collaboration (Image via Toysrevil Blog) Not sure whether this is going to be the standard colorway for the hp versions, if they're a few of the same in limited editions, or if they're all one offs, or what, but I sure do love this one! If there's any piece from SDCC that I have to have, it's one of these LS x DH double headed dino dude collabs.
A pretty cool figure, but the paint really makes it for me. Of course, dinos are cool, and two heads are better than one, but I really like the starved/mummified look of the artwork - much more crazed animal.
Definitely! Anyone know if "Dinosaurs", the title on the header means that this figure is the beginning to a dino series?! OR, the name of this figure (perhaps the plural name's being used because of the double head)? Either way, this figure's Great, but if there's a dino series in the works,.. well, .. it's time to start another savings goal shoebox.
We have some of Healeymade's SDCC exclusive Vrah Citric Summer Acid editions on the site right now for those interested. http://www.myplasticheart.com/pc/VR...+Acid+*SDCC+EXCLUSIVE*++SHIPS+WEEK+OF+JULY+23
Great stuff guys. Love the SLXHealey piece and the Lamour painted dinos. I got one unpainted, unpackaged dino, but I'd love to get a painted too. The muscle mask fig v.2 is awesome. At some point I would love to have 5 or so done in close, but different color spectrum shades and stack them one on top of the the other in my Healey display. I really like Healey's first jump into vinyl as well. The simple black really shows off the sculpt. It sounds like Healey is also going to handpaint some of them at some point.
Met David at NYCC last year and spent a good 20 minutes talking to him. He's a really kind guy, and seemed to be just happy to be putting his stuff out on a table for people to look at, none the less buy. I picked up one of these bad boys, absolutely awesome. Brings me back to the days when my cousin gave me a big ziploc bag full of MUSCLE and this guy right here was my favorite one! http://imgur.com/nlm7w
That's a great piece. There are a lot of different things that make Healey pieces work. Sometimes it's the mere fact that every time the light fluctuates the figure looks different or something as simple as a solid color that allows the details of a well crafted figure to be seen better. I have a mutlitude of Quackulas. I think #5 is in the commission que and when I want to look at just the sculpt and none of the other internal details I always go to the solid purple. I'm interested to see what he does for the art hustle too.
We recently dropped by the Healeymade studio and guess what we saw... http://www.myplasticblog.com/studio-vis ... dio-visit/
Healey drop tomorrow at MPH. http://www.cluttermagazine.com/news/2012/09/myplasticheart-x-healeymade-sea-mod-and-sogmoore
These new pieces up at mph remind me of old school cereal toys. I think they're called premiums.. *Images via VinylPulse (http://www.vinylpulse.com/2012/09/healeymade-x-myplasticheart-sea-mod-sogmoore-96.html)
I think these are the original figures: I also love the way the frosty ones david made came out. So cool.
Ha, well that would explain it. I had all three of those guys! Loved the GID Soggy! Hmm, think I'm gonna try to track 1 down.
NYCC goodness: The Zabka figure on the right is a 1 off, the one in the middle is the editioned GID, and the 1 on left is painted by Sucklord. For those that don't know this figure, it is Johnny from Karate Kid in skeleton costume. Having seen the original pieces used, the sculpting done to the figure to get it to the way it looks now is simply amazing.
