Good luck on your quest!!
Welcome to the party @BIGDZ68
Hi all, I'm Hannah.
I thought I'd better introduce myself as I've had an account here for a while, but have been much more of a lurker than poster. I'm only just now starting to be a more active on the forums.
I've been collecting designer toys since 2010, starting out with blind boxes, Kidrobot etc, before moving on to resin and sofubi in 2014/2015, which is where my collecting interests now lie.
I mainly collect Cometdebris, Dehara Yukinori, Shirahama, Super7, Konatsu Pigoras and Shoko Nakazawa Byrons. I'm slowly getting into other makers, recently picking up some Yamomark, Elegab and Marusan, which I love.
I've got a trip to Japan planned for May and I'll be staying a short walk away from Nakano Broadway when in Tokyo. I can't wait to buy all the sofubi, gachapon and Japanese randomness I can stuff into my suitcases!
I'm super stoked to see female collectors here and on IG, as most of my friends don't understand collecting and think it's insane how much sofubi costs.
haha, i think you described every sofubi collector right there, my brother to this day still dismisses my collection like its some kind of sickness. People don't understand, but WE understand. You are in the right place. Welcome aboard .
Hi everyone, I'm Max and I'm from New Jersey, USA, right outside of Manhattan-- Some of you may already know me from various groups, whether through other forums, IG, or otherwise, and that's how I ended up getting pointed in this direction. I've been collecting various toys for about 10 years now, and about 5 years ago I started shifting towards more Eastern toys (Gargamel got me on the craze!). It's amazing that it took me this long to find out about this place (especially considering that there are so few active message boards)! I look forward to being able to participate in the community, talk & share toys, and catch up on the latest releases. I hope to see you all around, both old faces and new!
Hello! Lifelong collector here--you may know me from other forums as Ed Gein. Love the gross out era of toys from the 80's-90's. Been seriously collecting for about 17 years I think, not counting the childhood years, from which I still have nearly all my toys.
I'm a freelance artist, mostly propmaking for film/TV. From Ohio, but now I live between Los Angles and New Zealand.
Toys and monsters have always been my passion, I've worked with several different companies to create collectibles, and I'm currently working on some independent toy projects that I think you Skullbrainers will really dig! I'll post about them in more relevant locations on the board, but www.lastresorttoys.com and www.instagram.com/lastresorttoys or www.facebook.com/LastResortToys if you want a peak.
You don't need to qualify it @Madmax405 , New Jersey is the new Queens.
♡ I can already feel the love ♡
Glad you're finally here where the action is welcome man!
Hello, my name is Matt and I'm from Mexico, long time lover of weird monsters, sci-fi and fantasy stuff. I became interested in sofubi and other independent toys quite some time ago. I just started collecting them so my number of sofubi pieces is pretty small (for now). Im also interested in 3D modelling and 3D printing and I started to create my own designs (not gonna shill them here don't worry). Im also into bootlegs, resin and transformers and the dream to go to at least one D-Con, Wonder Festival or Five Points Fest. Hey y'all.
yo im yoitsbruce and i am a professional amateur been noticing sofubi at tatto shops and horror conventions and i finally got on this site and have been slowly trying to bulid up colletions and maybe some repainting some older figures. i tried to get into dcon but the line and weather didnt help. monsterpolooza is coming up and i did get a win at the to the orient show amd got my 1st modern sculpt. thanks yall
Hello my name is Max Rodriguez and I’m from Dallas Texas.
It’s been a year+ since I started collecting sofubi and designer toys. I have a very small collection but it grows with every new artist I discover. I aimed high when it came to toys, hoping to snag MvH and Tkom stuff from the get go, only to find out it’s very hard and costly to find these toys. It taught me not to get so worked up on specific artists and to branch out and find other artists I liked. Aside from toys I’m a huge movie and horror nerd. From the classics to the modern horror up and comers. Feel free to message me and pick my brain more! It’s why I made an account, Thanks!
Welcome fellow Texan!
What’s up everyone!
My name is Josh and i am currently in Las Vegas. I have been collecting vinyl for close to a year now and love the darker creepy pieces. The figures that brought me to the vinyl community was pig pig man and meats which i love. I love to collect micro vinyls most of all but have a small collection of larger pieces too. I paint and customize figures to pay for my vinyl addiction and love to paint my own as well to make them my own. I am into all things horror and Halloween related as well as plain weird pop culture homages. Happy to be here and hope to learn some things, thanks for reading.
Cool paintjob on the figure and wall behind.
Thanks! I love Justin ishmaels stuff. This is one of my favorite minis
I am Hongxi and come from Taiwan. It is an island in Asia. I collect many kind of sofubi toys for 2 years. Very happy can find this forum. Hope can have a great discussion with everyone!
yo what up i just got granted membership to skullbrain too.
Hello all, 25 year old male from Maryland here. I've been a collector of many things for quite awhile but have recently taken the plunge into the world of sofubi. I have been a spectator from the sidelines and my bank account was what kept me at bay for so long but I started collecting in August of 2017 and have been in love ever since. So far my small collection consists of Grody Shogun, Super7, Gargamel, Rumble Monsters, RxH and a recent love of the Greasebat. I'm still getting my footing in this new hobby and I am always open to advice and would be eternally grateful to anyone who'd be willing to show me the ropes. I look forward to hopefully becoming friends with many of you in the future.
Refreshing to see a new member starting their post history here with some quality toy pics. Good stuff, keep it up.
Be sure to read pinned topics in the FAQs & Announcents section. Feel free to pm any additional questions. Welcome to the board.
Been hoping to get approved for posting on the site for awhile now. My name is Brandon, I started making toys a couple years ago as a creative outlet. I work in video games for my day job, but it's very common that the work I do is not of the "fun" variety, so I use lunch breaks, long nights and weekends creating stuff I like. I post on instagram as Motley Miscreations (https://www.instagram.com/motleymiscreations/) and just this last year did Designer Con for the first time. Most of my brain power is eaten up with ideas for creating and customizing toys these days, I love finally having a finish product in your hand once the process is complete. Desperately hoping to do some production vinyl toys in the future, whether it be sofubi, chinese vinyl or some mexifub (this one intrigues me greatly currently!).
Would love to make some connections with y'all!
Here's a couple photos stolen from my instagram
Damn those look great! I Would love to see some vinyl production pieces
nice pieces are those resin 3d printed
@Joshua mike Thanks! Hopefully someday, it seems to change drastically day to day whether or not I'll ever get the funding lined up to do so. I want to get some made so badly though haha.
@Yoitsbruce the pieces pictured are all cast resin pieces, but the masters do start as 3d prints. I do all my articulation with magnets currently.
