Dear People Who Know How to Make Resin Toys (or whatever material): Please make a series based on Turskish Star Wars and other wonderful Turkish rip-offs (ET PLEASE!) then just start doing Bollywood versions too. Use a thick rubber instead of resin, resin is for statues, rubber is for toys. I'd do it but I lack skill and free time. You can give me 1 each free for assisting with ideas. I can design the packaging, though, that's easy. Rainbows, Power Rangers, Obama, Name of the toy, DONE! -BD6969
Sorry to revive an older thread, but I've been staring these toys down online for more than 6 months now, and felt super burned that I never spotted them on the table at SDCC. Is there any hope for getting these guys stateside? I know I've seen like... ONE go through the BST here, but I was really hoping for more. If anyone knows where to shop them besides Mandarake & Popsoda online, I'd be grateful. I found another place called Rubber Duck in Japan who seems to have a good number in stock, but it looked like I needed to complete the order with an "agent" rather than direct. Also, I know Paul Kaiju has one of these, but who else does? I was sad to see that they keep selling out decently in Japan but I don't seem to spot them on any shelves posted on Skullbrain. I understand that their original Yen price puts them at a pretty high USD for their size, but I'm still surprised I don't see them more.
I know not everyone is taken with them, but I really love these guys. I have been hoping to find a blue skin version, but might have to pick up a regular flesh guy for now. I think now that the baddies are coming out, the quality is definitely picking up. I have been to the Popsoda shop several times in Osaka, and have never seen these guys, but the kaiju/new vinyl stuff he has on hand isn't a lot. I guess online might be the best way to go.
The blue skin one puts my dick in the dirt... The hands looking like the had hot pokers shoved through plastic, so the sword could fit... Not so much... I love the Homo erectus head though...
Thank you, Crab Rangoon, for reviving this thread, because if you hadn't I may never have seen this, the single greatest idea for a toy line in the history of everything ever: Amen.
All in all, there is Absolute (hooded-ground-beef face), Helton (full mask w/horn), and Sirius the Barbarian. The new testshots are still nameless. - Sirius tends to come with a sword, 1 or 2 versions have a morningstar-axe weapon. - Helton typically has the club weapon. - Absolute seems to be packed with a pair of morningstar-axes & an extra wielding hand, or a single axe and no extra hand. All pictures here were taken directly from the Frenzy blog. Also, the only English blurt I think I've come across since I started following his posts: After many days passed… Forgot how many days I spent but mycurrent original model is getting figured out. With muscles With facial expression With 2 arms My boss expressed the concept of this model is “infutilely big monster in 1980’s” He is now comfortable with this guy and will be released in the market, hopefully soon! FRENZY Can't believe I've never heard this phrase before, and I do really like that Solomon Grundy skin tone.
Holy crap, Hulkamania never even came to mind! btw, on different computers I'm using, only some of the pics show up - is there a bunch of broken images when you guys look at it too?
ive got an Absolute dude in purple. ,he is one of my favorites now. one of the only toys ive purchased this year i think. ill post pictures sometime today or tomorrow. love him to death
best of the best- i really like this line. the size and everything- i dont mind that its a little rough, its just simple and great...however i did catch this on the aftermarket for cheap i think, i would still spend 70 + on one of these guys if i get the chance
Ah, you must have been the one to score from Walter when he purged it I assume. Lucky! My message was just a little too late to land him. When I first saw them, I immediately thought that they were like my ultimate childhood dream-toy-come-true. MOTU-ish style clothes & weapons, but without the squatty/stocky stature - and made to a much cooler scale.
Let me dump a ton of updated photos in here. I decided that since there is quite a small amount of coverage for this company, I'd just throw their updates on my Flickr and this thread (all straight from their blog). Since hotlinking their Ameblo blog photos obviously doesn't work, I rehosted them so I can post here. and my two favorites so far...
December updates! New paint samples & product packaging is in for the new character (CRUSHERBALL). Only a small update because this is a test shot (note: sample may differ from final product). Welcome, a bad character, CRUSHERBALL! He once appeared as a loveable character, but his left arm was cut off by Sirius. He wants revenge on Sirius ever since. New Splash Killer & Helton coming soon! _______________________________________________________________ Introducing Absolute (phantom version). He will be on sale at Super Festival 58 (¥ 5500) on 01.09.12. I think he's a very good "bad guy." These 3 are prototypes. No more than 3 will be available, because of the paint process. But you can custom paint your own. Weapons are not included. _______________________________________________________________ Anyone going to SF 58? I'll pay you kindly
These are freaking nuts! Both headsculps and paintjobs blow my mind! thanks for the info Crab Rangoon !
