Let me see if I can hit all the questions: Marmit Parababy Grey version This is the, uh, child molester JJ. He's the short guy in front of the Green Gigabrain JJ, second row. He came with the flying JJ that is in front of him. There's also a blue-grey version of the same mold that I just snagged on YJA a few days ago. I always pictured him as the JJ that would most likely stab me in an alley for my wallet. As I slipped into shock and unconsciousness, the last thing I would see was that terrible, unchanging smile... Group in the middle These are all Gigabrain sculpts. Gigabrain released a total of 12 figures (to date). They're all great sculpts and great quality. I don't know the edition size on all of them, but some of them are really hard to find. I think the GID version with the red chest on the far left (next to the green version) was an edition of 30. I'm hoping to put up a page in the near future with all the info on each figure. The EVA is an actual production piece (not a custom) but is pretty tough to score. I got lucky and found one at a Mandarake on the Tokyo trip last year. The Gigabrain sculpts are great. Godzilla Island JJs There was a TV series in Japan called "Godzilla Island" that was done with Bandai figures a few years back. Check here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godzilla_Island. The white JJ is the 'Nurse Jet Jaguar" and the red one is the "Firefighter Jet Jaguar". The use of them in the TV series was...interesting: The shorter versions of them are Bandai figures, and the larger versions are Gigabrain releases. Still on the hunt There are only maybe five more figures I need before I feel like I've completed the collection. There's the unpainted GID M1 Jet Jaguar that I just missed a week or so on the boards. And of course there's the original giant-sized Bullmark from 1973, but given the cost I'm going to be really particular with that one. There's also the three Bullmark middle-sized versions (original, original unpainted, M1 GID reproduction). I'm still not decided on whether or not I want the three because I'm not a huge fan of the bow-legged look of the sculpt. I'll probably give in, though... Thanks for all the comments. -- jJ
wow, what a focus. who's the little blue one by? he's a standout. and that glow is positively radioactive.
John knows what he's talking about when it comes to Jet Jag. His KaijuZoo did a beautiful job on my M1 peach piece: jetJagger, you've got the most amazing Jet Jaguar collection I've seen.
That one looks like one of the legs might have warped inward. This is what they look like standing: The sculpt has a weird birthing-hips thing going on. I know I'm in the minority on this one, but it's my least favorite of all the JJ sculpts. -- jJ
Such dedication! Do you collect any other characters jetJagger? I just got my first JJ today, the Iwakura Bullmark repro miniature in GID. Now I'll have to track down one of those Gigabrain GIDs.
I do, but JJ is by far my main man. You'll have to be vigilant for those guys. I think one of them was an edition of 15 and the other was an edition of 30. You'll have a much easier time finding the Billiken GID JJ. -- jJ
