Every detail on this guy is incredible. It is designed so well with lots of cool/fun ideas mixed in. I'll add that I love the tentacle underside of the arms and backs of the legs. It's a nice and unexpected way of mixing existing sea creatures. I do love, and want, an unpainted but all the textures of added sea life and barnacles take paint so well. I hope to see some really crazy painted versions in the future.
^^^ I haven't been paying attention so this is the first I've seen of the BEAMS beauty. Not going to hunt it for myself, but damn is it gorgeous! G'luck, Mitch!
Whoah... Robert, did you see any Hormolars up? Don't see any now... hope I did not miss them... In any case, thanks for the heads-up!
I don't understand why the Guddorobo isn't more popular. It is a really interesting and unique sculpt for a robot toy. I think the unpainted will look even more amazing with the helmet on. A mixed part version would be so rad.
I have one on the way, Todd... the first version, not the fade-to-clear... will give details when he gets here.
I have the first version. It's not as large as the hormone monster. It's id say 8-9 inches. Articulation at waist and wrists.
I've wondered the same. I have the purple Good Robot, the M1 x Hyper Hobby exclusive (Version Here : http://www.toybotstudios.com/2011/07/jetture-good-robot-m1-go-x-hyper-hobby.html), and he's one of those sculpts I find myself looking over a good bit. Going back to "why Guddorobo isn't more popular", there's kind of a goofy aspect to him @ first look, and honestly, when I 1st bought him, I was on the fence about it too. NOW, he's a Definite keeper. Perhaps he'd be more popular if people could experience him in hand before purchase, hmmm, but except at festivals & other events, I suppose that'd be an unusual circumstance... My recommendation - If you're interested when one pops up, GET IT! If you end up not liking him, just pass him on. You know the drill Animator, you might've seen him already as he's been around for awhile now, but he's not too far from being unpainted w' a couple of "mixed parts": I plan on getting a couple others eventually, so I'll have to mix & match for some pictures. Unless someone else is already ready & willing!
when I saw him it was a definite go! just got him and he's beautiful. such a fresh sculpt with old-timey goodness. this black one is tough, too! pics of mine: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rattanicus/
I absolutely love the Good Robo figure! To me it has some French Comic Book flavor in it (Most notably the car/headpiece). I do not own one...yet.
The Hormolar mini absolutely blew me away when I checked KK this morn... SO damn cool! Being fairly over the edge for Hormolar right now, I'm also thrilled that this guy was snagged for me yesterday and will soon be winging his way to VT!
