Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull This is actually an original sculpt by M1 not a B-Club.
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull Oops you're right I I got the threads mixed up again
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull Or, to be more specific, it's an original Bullmark sculpt of Jiras that M1 defrocked to make it into the best Godzilla toy ever! Moving right along... The B stands for bling. Bemler Ultraman Zoffy Bemular B-Club Bullmark repro
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull This morning I found the above scrappy snaps of some of my old '83 Bandais from their Ultrakaiju line. As much as I no longer have any interest in the vast majority of 'realistic' sculpts out there, there's something about each and every one of these that still totally gets me. I love the hard, almost dangerous looking angles; the rough and crusty textures; and the by-and-large nasty looking quality to the colors of the sprays. Although a handful of the '92 sculpts do a little something for me - for example, I'm glad that a Dada exists and their Booska is just perfect - I find I'm really not drawn to any but these eldest toys from the ever-expanding and ever-more-popular carded family. Anyone know if there's a definitive resource out there that lists all of the monstas from the original run? I'd love to be able to find out for certain which creatures I'm missing, and to see some more examples of all the vinyl and colorway variations out there. Thanks, I hope!
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull DUH! Yeah, as great a resource as Mike's site is it really seems to me like he treats many Tsuburaya beasties as second class citizens. His Bandai Dept. has only one entry for '83!
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull This thread needs some more activity; maybe this amazing toy can inspire some others. Well, I really love this Zoffy - plain and simple. Unlike some of the earlier B-Clubs, the quality on this toy leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. Excellent supply vinyl, perfect paint application, and crafted with detail. The removable mask is icing on this delicious cake. As a stand in for a pricey vintage version, I could not be happier with this figure. Now get out there and buy one for yourself to share in the joy! Just look at that suit. One of those toys that makes me feel like a kid again, and reminds me of my love for Ultraman.
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull Superb! Shames the version I posted above.
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull Not at all, they are both great! If it was up to me we would have more smaller removable mask heroes, and more larger GID ones.
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull I somehow missed your post last week, Steve. That's a STUNNING Zoffy!
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull LOL. I guess everyone missed I posted him a page back.
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull Not I, good sir. Your pics just made me want him all that much more.
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull Glad you found him. Great toy in his own right though (and much much cheaper than a vintage version).
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull I like to show people my green belly; it makes me happy.
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull Hard to go wrong with RedKing! Here's a sculpt-revamp that I just learned about, from neuvo-Bullmark: RedKing II, of the pronounced Adam's apple. Pic by ultrakaijyu. http://www.ultrakaijyu.com/ultraman/redking2.html Revisionist gimmickry abounds at the Bullmark laboratories: Poor little prince! His only crime was waking up. And now back to your regularly scheduled collection shots.
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull Is Goji counting mantras? Skree Mani padme onkk
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull Thanks, guys! The Goji is actually wearing Greek komboloi (worry beads), but I did put them on for that faux Buddhist touch...
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull No pictures of toys but just wanted to say if you can pick up the Bullmark Memorial Box it's worth it, I put off ordering it for nearly four years now and I'm so glad I finally did. Just for the posters alone it's awesome.
Re: Killer Bs: give it up for Bandai, B-Club, and (neo) Bull I can always stand to see more pics Dennis. The Bullmark box is definitely something I want to pick up eventually. I had to pass on it over a couple times now, and it still sticks in the back of my mind. Did you happen to get the exclusive Garamon figure too? All those flyers and posters - you can really imagine what it would have been like as a kid in the 70s. I know there was talk of doing some copying or translations of the commercials as David had suggested; not sure if that is still ongoing or looking for further contributions.
