Time to get off my ass and start a new thread. I think the mini Bullmark kaiju sculpts are super-special. Photos really don't do these toys justice; they are so much more fun in person. However, I don't think we've got a dedicated thread on this board. . . I'm not picky when it comes to vintage/repro mini Bullmarks. They are all relatively cheap and easy to come by, but I have tracked down a couple of special and rare ones. I also like Yuji's minis; they are very lovingly done. Here is a quick photo of my small collection. They make a neat display in themselves, but I've found I like how they can be placed with larger toys, creating a lot of cool color combinations. It would be neat if others could post photos of groups of just their Bullmark (and M1) minis. Cheers, Mike
Oh! I'm so jealous of two or three of those minis!!! Nice pic. I only have like... one I think So no photo!
Really cool mini collection FC. Favorites- pink Twin Tails, Kittyfire, and black Earthtron. I dont have many but I figured id contribute anyway. All of these are Bullmark.
I love these little guys, love them. I have a load of them, I'll have to post pics. My little girl likes to play with them and have a pretend school classroom. The medium sized versions become the teachers, stuff like that.
Well, I would really like to bring some of the old school back to Skullbrain. I know I have been pushing to get some action in all these vintage threads lately, but I won't stop trying. Here are a few of the vintage Bullmark minis I have been collecting; as I could not afford the full sized versions, these really make a satisfying little bit of collecting for my traditional kaiju fix. Hope you guys enjoy them too! Sorry if they are a bit crowded, but I wanted to get in as many as I could. I love Butas and M1 and Bearmodel, but for me, vintage will always come first. These guys are where it all started, and when you consider the time they were released, they are pretty damn amazing toys. I am quite happy with my little line up. I did not get all my favourites of course, as certain figures can get pretty pricey. Just a lot of general fun though. I have to add a special note of thanks (even though he will never likely read this) to Yamamoto-san of the Mandarake Grand Chaos for a great hook up. I am always on the lookout for more friends for this bunch, so hit me up anytime. Mini vinyl toys forever!
Fantastic! Totally jealous! I'm just day-dreaming here...but I'd honestly love to see some kind of massive thread--or even something fancier like a database--with tons of luscious pics of each mini (and even standard or giant vintage toys). Like, full-blown porno spreads! I mean, group shots are great and totally fun, but I feel that I pay attention to each embedded photo I see in a thread for only X number of seconds before moving on...and I therefore often miss out on the individual hotness of particular figures. I'd totally love to see Playmate of the Month-style pictorials of each toy to ogle!
The pose on Bemler is priceless! "You snot nosed little punk! You will never amount to anything in life unless you get off your sorry butt and get a job. And quit eating cheetos in the living room, you drop them and they're making the cat sick! Now I'm going to the hairdresser."
fission chips - Great idea for a thread. Where did you go? Come back and grace us with more photos!!! ultrakaiju - I had no idea that your hunts had been so successful - utterly fantastic assortment! I recall spying a nicely crusty looking Seabozu in your Flickr stream; I hope that's just a small taste of what your updated mini post will look like once you are reunited with the rest of your toys next week! Sanjeev - I couldn't possibly agree more. Bring on the smutty close-ups! Bring on the eagle eye overheads! Bring on the luscious backsides! blakewest - HILARIOUS!
Thanks guys. I am quite happy with them, especially considering these were all bought on the cheap (with the exception of Hedorah). Sure, some are a bit loose and beaten up, maybe even camouflaged like ol' Bemler, but to me that just means they have been loved. Sanjeev, I promise when I have a real camera and some spare time, I will definitely try and do these guys justice. I couldn't agree more that each deserves his own profile. There are plenty of books listing all the Bullmark minis (and of course the glory that is CT), but it might be interesting to do a database of sorts just compiled from Skullbrainers collections. I could supplement the additional missing figures with stock photos until people can track them down.
I have just one vintage toy. Marusan Doragory mini. I like the sculpt better than the Bullmark one 'cause the Mausan is so goofy looking. My daughter pointed out that they applied the eye paint outside the eye hole.
Bringing this thread back. Picked up a couple new ones recently, really digging this Gorbagos. updated group shot
Very nice indeed, there is a certain charm with these old minis that you can't get with anything else.
My miniature collection of Bullmark minis does not compare to the awesome groups so far in this thread. But I thought I'd share 2 of the 3 I have anyway. Took Sanjeev's advice on some more intimate shots. My only vintage mini and standard size Kaiju pair: This is a fun thread. I hope more people decide to share.
GREAT !! love this thread .. Ive got some but have only photographed these vintage ones so far ... oh and a zetton
This is a great pair. Never seen them before. I was looking at this photo when my wife walked in and she immediately said "Ooh, I like that bird thing."
Did the vintage ones come bagged with headers? Any chance some of you have photos or references for mini-headers (new or old)? I'm working on a new header, possibly in the same style...
