I did. I'm so psyched from scoring that I'm actually watching the 90s Evangelion anime on Netflix as I type this (how are the movies?)
I think the shop drops are super easy if you prepare. The people complaining are just wasting Rich's time whining for its own sake.
In the end, its in one pocket out the other. With or without a cart hold, there are more customers than toys. Thats why i think the cart holds are kind of unnecessary. Not everyone will be happy every time. I think the shop drops give everyone a fair chance (although maybe not international customers, that's harder for me to gauge.) I have heard oversells on shopify are extremely rare, and thats the real concern (to me as a customer.) For what its worth i voted lottery when rich did his IG story, with full knowledge that I had better odds via a shop drop. I support lottery sales for smaller runs of larger painted toys. For blanks, and minis like bernie, I think shop drops are best. After all, even when Rich does a lottery sale, people will still find something to complain about. And i don't mean this as a dig at Rich, i think he's doing a great job given the situation. I mean that, no matter what he does, people will find a reason to complain. At least with a shop drop, it's kind of out of Rich's hands, and is left up to fate.
I still have one in my cart, is it safe to check out?!? It reminds me of shoe drops when the sites would crash so bad and people were afraid to leave or refresh the page since it would freeze up... 13 hours later they are asking if they can still check out not realizing the shoes have sold out. Ahhh wasteful Saturdays, good times.
I would have scored something if I didn’t try to double up and get two different figs. I blame myself and not the cart hold system. Greed is no good when it comes to shop drops. Whiners are weiners. Almost every time I’ve gone for just one item, I’ve scored. I mean, this conversation WOULD be a lot more fun if Quentor were epically melting down right now.... Just sayin’
Yup! This is a risk I'm almost never willing to take. Because if you hit checkout with 2 and just 1 is gone, you can kiss both goodbye.
I vote for an unban solely for comedy purposes On the previous drop I scored 3 toys. Buy 1 check out, go back, check out, go back, check out, go back, sell out. I went for the Hyper Viper run, reserved it then went for the test paint set and reserved it knowing full well I might get nothing. I had both in cart and was planning to remove the hyper viper since I had the set but then it said it was gone. Surprisingly I still got the test set but if I got nothing ah well. No need to try and make Rich feel shitty about things. I'm sure he feels shitty enough paying developers for something they couldn't figure out how to do.
I don't know about that. I've only scored from one shop drop and I prepare. I log onto paypal, I'm counting down the minutes. I've got all my info saved. In most cases I go for the toys with larger runs so I have a better chance. I don't understand it. You'd think living in the bay area I'd have some high speed internet going on.
I gotta admit, this is one of the coolest customs I have seen in a while. Great work man! I just watched Neon Genesis Evangelion and I could definitely see this as an angel. Hopefully we see a run someday!
