I always look forward to the shop drops. Sure they're competitive, there's the adrenaline rush, and the surprise toys are great and fun to see the things you've been keeping secret. You win some, you lose some, but there's always another day.
“Keep on keeping on, Rich! PS: Echoing the sentiments of others here... Please announce the drops beforehand as there is no time to think once they are live. And please keep all your items available on the home page. The collections button wasn't working for me, and there's no need to add complexity to the process. Your inventory is small enough.” I second this
@Rich I remember when I first joined here you did a SB exclusive timed window open run of the Ollie and Death's Head DX. I technically speaking missed the cut-off time by like, an hour, but you still let me in. Those were my first ever MVH toys I bought and you did it as a thank you to this community. I also remember when I showed you a toy I bought on the 2nd hand market that had, quoting you, "the worst damage I have ever seen in the 10 years I've been doing this". You fixed it for free and because it took a while, you gave me a free toy as an apology for taking so long. An apology for a favor you never had to do in the first place. An exclusive toy for a community that was with you at the birth of MVH simply as a show of appreciation and respect. You have been nothing but a stand-up dude who bends over backwards to help his fans, even the ones that do nothing but complain. You gave everyone a hand shake and a thank you at DCON and I remember collecting flash with your son at DCON behind Candie and Wonder Goblin's booth while everyone was just working through the process of a long ass lotto that eventually had security called on it. @quentor, it is downright insulting to treat anyone, let alone a dude who has a small mountain of evidence as to his positive intent, so badly. You have a total and absolute lack of introspection. There is quite literally dozens of people here calling you out, but nope, @Rich has a giant conspiracy to mentally damage the people who quite literally feed his family. What a reasonable conclusion to draw! I'm sure you'll think I'm probably just riding @Rich's jock or whatever, which is fine. You can be over there ripping your hair out of your head screaming into the void and I'll be over here thankful when I win, moving on when I don't, and doing what I can to help grow this scene and put a smile on people's face with my own toy show. Speaking of which, @badteethcomics, you are better than this man. SVM is what helped inspire me to do my own toy show. Handle your business how you like, but don't you think you'd be happier trying to make this community smile rather than just ripping @Rich a new asshole over every slight, real or perceived?
Hell, at least Hirota even has online lottos you can join in the U.S. If you want Uzumark you better be ready to pay a huge markup on an already really fucking expensive small ass toy
Small list of those who use Shopify, and do store drops on some of the hottest items. i think the “customer is always right” mentality stays in big corp. settings not with art or single artist brands. in my line of work 9/10 times the customer is wrong and you either hear us out or you get ta walkin’ to the next shop. and no one is bummed
In order of appearance: Rich, Quentor, the boards. None of it’s a diss, I just couldn’t help but be reminded of this.
@Rich you seem to be a little obsessed with me being 'hard' all of the time.. get your head out of the gutter mate or at least buy me some Viagra @MoonspellxRites you got that right, especially in the tattoo biz. At this point I'm just having fun in this thread because it's littered with bait whenever I drop in.. maybe I should permanently set my text to purple?
I missed out on the latest drop cos i F5-ed too much before it's live and got frozen out by shopify right on the dot, didn't expect that though, lesson learnt!
Rich - fwiw, I actually liked the format. We got a preview of some of the items available, then a couple surprises mixed in. If you thought you could add multiples then checkout, you already failed. Always go for a single item as fast as you can. Cart hold or not, it will be the “cart hostage” all over again. There will always be a level of luck and speed to shop drops. It’s the nature of the game with high demand items. If you can’t live with some disappointment, perhaps try another hobby. Or collect something thats always readily available. Plenty of toys in the sea.
Just now have it added and starting to have it all figured out. The code comes stock at 15 min hold, but there is an option to upgrade the service to adjust hold time limit to say 3min, so cart holds move faster. So I think there will be a solution that allows holds, but not so much it becomes its own issue with becoming a hostage.
Site froze a couple of seconds into clicking Sofubi page but that was just the traffic. Was on an iphoWhat screwed me was my apple pay not recognizing my face lol. Gonna try on a laptop next time and log into paypal before hand.
this right here. theres so many cool toys out there that you can buy rn and you dont even have to whine to anyone
Man reading these last couple of pages is rough. I love the shopdrops, it's a rush of adrenaline. *shrug* People have to realize with high demand, it will always be like this. Rich doing the extra work to get cart reserves is more than what others do. Keep doing you @Rich
A guy who posted "fuck flippers" was also posting $600 offers for the latest shop drop on IG Do they not have a word for "cognitive dissonance" in China?
