    The header is totally Bemon. But I don't see Bemon in the sculpt at all, or at least the Bemon that I knew.

    I find it funny that a lot of the comments say something to the effect that 'this is not a real Bemon sculpt' as if we somehow are the arbiters of Bemon-ness. For what it's worth, I think this one fits in fine with the concept of the prior two sculpts as they all take obscure toys/drawings and transform them into standard size JP vinyl toys. Granted yes, the style is different, but it is true to the original toy, just as the prior two toys were accurate to the original art. I'm sure Bemon could churn out craggy monster toys to your heart's desire, but I think that would be rather boring.

    On my part, no questions about authenticity.

    Its like if Murakami does a Matisse-style painting I'd say it doesn't look like a Murakami that's all.

    There is no way to profit off that though, unlike the 5000 poorly sculpted versions of the "Nag" masterpiece.

    I like this, I don't think its worth the price, but I like it and think it fits with the Bemon legacy. Its also nice to see some diversity from a maker and not just another pile of texture.

    Actually, I think it's a fantastic toy on its own merits. Vintage inspired, but improved with a larger scale and higher-quality production. It's just unfortunate that, as you note, the Bemon name automatically drives the price up.

    And if the Nag toy (insert other random past hyped toy that has fallen) wasn't sold/marketed in the way it had been no one would care.
    I agree that I wish this was less, I'd like an army of them. And I think this colorway is great. I've always loved red/blue.

    Likewise if Gargamel had slapped a new head on a zag people would probably be going crazy for it and cry out for teh micro and crouching versions.

    it's actually the opposite for me...

    i loved the nag on first sight just on the merits of the toy alone, but the way it was sold/marketed is what made me NOT care

    I think that's how many people feel now(I still can enjoy the sculpts and paint applications from time to time). I feel like it went from people trying to help oversea fans being able to grab a Nag to how much of a price hike can we charge for the newest one.

    It's not like if Bemon was sculpting everyday around either... (or does he lend his services anonymously to other companies ?)
    The Kougai Kaiju set the "Bemon" standard by itself. The 2 headed being an imposing rough tall beast, intentionally uber limited, of course caught the attention of many collectors/flippers.
    So it's basically three sculpts in how many years ?

    I'm not sure Bemon really has a personal sculpting style. But he surely has a painting style.

    I agree completely about the painting style but I'm 99% sure Honda doesn't sculpt his figures.

    I don't really care for the arms, but the rest of the sculpt looks pretty good in my opinion. I'm not really a fan of the colors either. Overall I like it, but I'd probably pass on buying one unless it was made in different colors.

    Anybody got a picture of whichever figure people are talking about in this thread? I can't figure which one it is.. (and I'm desperate for some toy talk on SB after the past couple of days with beer, hockey and star wars threads only being active)

    You got me there :lol: Fair point.. Maybe I was just projecting my own opinion a bit, not really feeling this figure at the moment.. but as we all know, some toys take a little time to click!

    You might not have seen many because only three versions have been made alone with a couple blanks. I'm hoping after a couple more releases this figure will become a little easier to get a hold of. Love that black/glitter version Rob.

    There is something about this sculpt and its colorways that makes it impossible for photographs to do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful and hefty in person.

    I dig the sculpt and absolutely love the black glitter! There are some comparison shots on IG and it is a beast of a figure even next to the 2HB. I know they were released on yahoo but also through Kriminal Design but are long sold out. Definetly a cool ass space monster!
