i'm also passing on these, not that i think i have a chance of picking them up, just trying to stick with the Toho/Tsuburaya stuff.
[quote="luciferj [/quote] I think I'm feeling this one. Not quite sure. I looks slightly deviant. I definitely want that Goro (ape guy).
she's pretty serious compared to most Butanohana pieces but she does have a cute little bow on her tail! awwwe!
love the ape sculpt but would have preferred different colors. Aren't those the exact same colors as the Kurozaru? Is it a tribute color or something?
I was kinda expecting to see something similar to what Marmit produced. I really love these colours though, i don't have any red based Butanohana so this one is definitely shelf worthy for me. Hopefully he comes with that little brother with the bowl cut, the face is very similar.
The bullmark spray is awesome, i definitely want that one too! Lots of dark vinyl bases this time round it seems
yes and no, similar to pigmon/garamon the Oodako suit was reused in Ultra Q as Sudar. It does look like a different sculpt though, the Oodako was more upright, i really love the colours used on this version.
Really? The Buta Oodako has a license from Toho for the 1962 film "King Kong vs. Godzilla", but no suit was used in the film. It's just live action footage of a real octopus. Maybe the same footage was re-used for the Ultra Q episode? I like this new version and I agree the colors are great.
^^ sorry, i stand corrected reused scenes seems like Butanohana are really pushing to get all the Ultra Q kaiju out, bring on the Peguila and Gomess!!
I think it's hysterical that Buta went through the trouble of getting a license for what could have easily been sold as a generic giant octopus figure. I think doing the Ultra Q version is a great way of doing the same figure again but avoiding a re-issue.
