Does anyone know if Dream Rocket has a website anymore? I've seen their site linked on a few blog posts back from 2008 or so, and the link is dead.
Awesome, thanks so much! Also for anyone looking for the shop specifically, it's linked on the blog as this: http://dreamrocket.cart.fc2.com/
Looks like Dream Rocket had their second release of this sculpt, who is now officially named "Omega." It's marked as sold out on One-Up, which means it sold out in less than a day.
Perhaps I'm alone in this, but I can't say I care for the two collab sculpts from One-Up and DR (Kamikaze and Omega). DR has always excelled in walking the line between stylized and realistic sculpts, but the proportions of these seem cartoonish- overly so. Despite that, these do seem well-sculpted and nicely painted from the photos.
I believe you are not alone akum6n. These sculpts are certainly not everyone's cup of tea. Personally, I like both of them and thought they are one of the best figures to come out this year. The Kamikaze is infact designed by Zenith, sculpted by DR, and produced by One-up. I absolutely love the kamikaze. I think the size, sightly deformed feel, texture, weight & balance are great. Only thing I would "complain" is playability. I wish the little arms and head are articulated.
Anyone know if there was ever a GID Painted Marnon released? I've seen an unpainted slime-green GID somewhere before, but not a painted.
There has not been a production Marnon on normal GID vinyl. There were a few Marnons cast in clear vinyl with a GID inside pour (including the painted and unpainted clear green w/ inner GID that were exclusive to Rotofugi). There was also a Marnon in GID vinyl w/ glitter infused.
Does anyone know if Dream Rocket has a new site or blog? Their blog hasn't had a new post since Nov 27 2014. The recent collab with Blobpus shows they aren't on hiatus or anything...
I think he just does not post often, probably when things are busy. There was a time a few years ago when there were no posts for the better part of a year.
I'd love to add a Cobra Man to my collection, maybe a Mantis too at some point. It doesn't look like shipping to the U.S. is possible from the Dream Rocket shop. Does anyone know if email orders are accepted? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
No, I've asked. I would send an inquiry to Mark Nagata (Max Toy) as he has offered some of the newer Dream Rocket figures in the past. I think they (Dream Rocket) have limited sales outside of Japan, so not all of the figures are solicited all of the time.
Need help with an ID. I've never seen this color of vinyl used for one of the standard Drazoran figures. There was a mini Drazoran released mid-2010 with a similar vinyl color.
Thanks for the information, I appreciate it. I'll post here if I have any luck or get any updates. Thanks again.
Preview pic posted by Mark Nagata for his upcoming new figure for Max Toy Co. Being sculpted by Pico Pico. I am digging both sides.
Really into this guy, his organic non mecha side reminds me a bit of standing Barugon. In a good way!
I took a while to pick up one of the newest Dream Rocket sculpts, Kamakiri Ningen. It is really well done, probably my favorite of the Kaijin Gundan figures. Some interesting articulation choices- no head or waist articulation, but each claw can open and close. This is a one-off from the Dokidoki Osaka Banpaku event in March of this year.
That's absolutely beautiful, Daniel. Glad it found the right home. Classic DR sculpt and paint. Thanks for showing.
