re: http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/proj ... 956466699/ I'm just wondering how you can order this from Rakuten website because it states on their order page: "This item is shipped to the following countries only: China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand"
ok, I have just received confirmation that they can ship to Australia. I think the wording on their shop site was lost in translation, meaning that the countries listed are the ones that they WON'T ship to. sorry
^^Really? I did think it was weird that only those countries were listed. Must be some licensing issue. Ok, done with rationalizing. F-u-c-k you Medicom.
Yes, unfortunately some products, due to licensing issues, are restricted. Mazinger Z and Devilman items are always offered overseas, so that's a plus. It is really inconvenient trying to complete the Kamen Rider line, but well worth the trouble IMO-the toys are excellent. If you're having trouble, there's plenty of brokers out there, or you can apply for a Japanese shipping address through Tenso. I've learned it's still cheaper to fork over the fees than to try and land these toys on the aftermarket via eBay or Mandarake.
Yeah, I think HBCoffin's right--it's not Medicom, since they're just the licensee. It's up to the makers. Anyway, I'm loving this whole "Godzilla: Vinyl Wars" thing! Perfect timing with the new movie and a nice homage to the last one. And with the state of the sofubi industry where it's currently at, an epic collaboration of this magnitude is a cool way to re-energize old fans and maybe score some new ones. Well, so far, we've got: Marusan M1 Marmit Sofvi Life Bear Model Butanohana Wait--was there even a Marusan one? Seems crazy for there not to be one from them. Anyway, the site says that Saburo Ishizuki (of Bullmark, past and present) was somehow involved in Yuji's M1 figure. I wonder what that means...
^^^Yah that's true. But Medicom's neck was the nearest to squeeze. I guess if I go back far enough my FU should be directed to Toho. Sanjeev, I think I misread. 10 may be referring to 10 years since any releases. But has it been 10 years? None are new sculpts and Marmit's been dishing out Goji nearly every toy fest. Dunno.
Back to the Sofvi Life blue Goji. Guess I'm not senile yet. There REALLY was a similar looking blue. I was clearing my folders and found this pic that I saved more than a year ago.
Haha...I wonder if it's even Toho! My guess is that it's up to the individual makers. They obtain the license from Toho to make their Godzilla toy...then Medicom commissions them to collaborate on this project? I'd be curious to see how the whole thing got organized... Anyway, I don't think it's been 10 years since a Godzilla sofubi release: that Marmit figure came out in '07.
The Marusan version of the Godzilla Vinyl Wars Medicom project. To my understanding this is an exclusive available only from BigBadToyStore.
Does anyone know if Rakuten will ship directly to the US? Waiting to hear back, but getting the impression they don't...
The international orders through Medicom Project 1/6 Rakuten site will only be for other Asian countries not in Japan. So far Diamond distribution is only importing the Sofvi Life Pretty Goji and Bear Model Goji.
I wish there were stores in the USA that sold the new Medicom Sofubi stuff. It hasn't been easy for me to get and there's still ones i'm missing like Kikaider and Ninja Arashi. Mandarake has been my only source since YJ auctions really add up after all the fees on top of the figure price.
I think that licensing is one of the main issues for when it comes to a lot of the re-issues that Medicom does. What ever contracts they have with the original makers doesn't allow them to sell outside of Japan. If you look around you will find that some US stores do have access to some of the Medicom sofubi line.
I wish!! I pretty munch only see the new superhero stuff ( batman/ joker, etc.) around and Mazinger stuff.
You are right, the goji bb looks good. 400% will do for me. I also like the comic sofubi line and the hulk hogan. Medicom has been putting out some solid stuff !
Oh no, there goes Tokyo. Go-Go Godzilla! 1000% and 400% - - Don't believe there is a difference between either design. That includes the recent series release 100%. I plan to bring these in. Sorry I didn't get the Devilman now...
What about the Medicom Cosmos Aliens? I saw those three new sculpts at Wonderfest, but beyond that I know nothing about when they will be released.
