ill wait till i see the final release but BxH has really let me down and i wish i didnt get rid of my Moguro Kun i loved that thing
I think the visionary style of BxH is that people or the majority of collectors don't necessarily get his stuff right away. The man is a visionary ahead of everyone else. We may not like this particular release right now but I'm curious to know if our perspective of this figure is the same in a few years. All I know is that I want it now.
SKULL KUN MICKEY Bounty Hunter X Disney X Mindstyle released at Toy Fair 2012 Comes in hard box with numbered ID card. Size comparison with original Skull Kun. Mickey kun is huge !
Yeah even if they had just used the pants it would have looked decent, the ears do nothing for the shape of the skull.
Not a fan of Disney stuff or their collaborations in general, but if the ears were angled just a bit differently, this would have looked ten times better. See... That bit of white unpainted vinyl between the ear and skull really mucks up the visual transition too. Meh.
hmmmmm... not sure what to make out of this as well. I like the concept. The ears do seem odd, but they are also too small, right?
what kirkland said. on first sight i thought its a custom. without the ears would probably look simply better: less is more. just customize! some of bxh´s latest releases werent that bad imo: kumaru kun same as all black giruru kun did it to me.
would look better as a mousekateer beanie instead of a pair of ears krazy glued on top of the skull. I am sure collectors will eat this up regardless.
^^^ Hey L, you may not know that you can't post auctions on SB. Please check the rules and edit your post. Thanks.
BxH already did Pete amongst their old black & white vinyl releases. All of which, to me, just came off as Disney vinyls, not BxH vinyls. They look way too small in the overall scale, especially since Skull Kun rocks giant head / hands / feet. I would probably like it a lot more if the ears were larger, but it would be best if he were wearing a removable mouse-ears hat. They could have even had a nice golden "BxH" stitched into it or something. I'm all over that, I like it a lot more than the Kun! Wouldn't that be true of all Mickey mashups/tributes?
This. I guess most of the vinyl ogs in Japan would like to make more money, ergo all of the dubious high-profile collabs. The only thing it does for me is taint the rest of their releases...
