Sunguts Frankie makes me swoon.
Whew. The original link didn't work, I guess you just have to use the image page link.
That Frankie is in the top five of my personal collection. Love that little guy!
He likes monies
Current group of desk-friends...
Nice grouping Mike! Those Tiger7s are getting much more sought after these days.
I am having problems seeing the image above from @Lttr Prssd. Waited to comment, and came back to this thread, but still seeing the same thing, i.e. just and
Dang. I think the links I get from Google are https links, so that was my fear, Hmmm. It's such an easy hosting site, I hate to find another one.
Well, I wouldn't switch just yet Mark. Seems to be a problem that I (possible uniquely) am having with a number of linked images on the forum, not just Google-related. David can see it fine, so maybe most others too.
Nope, it's since converted into a bland, grey message box for me, too. Foo.
@Lttr Prssd @ultrakaiju
I found shiny stuff on sale so now I use it.
Photobucket is dead to me (as are all of my previous photobucket image postings ). It's a shame how many more images are gone from here now since photobucket pulled this crap.
Bust a move in honor of the Imgur!
Hint: To host with Imgur it looks like you Must use the website (I can't find the direct link option in the app, but let me know if you do). To access the direct link code - (1) click on the image you want from your Imgur image gallery, (2) then right above your username on the top left side of the image click on the little green arrow pointing down, (3) and a drop down menu will appear that will allow you to choose "Direct Link". That is the address you'll want to plop into sb's image url slot. Super easy once you know where to look.
Hope this helps the rest of yall in this situation. It should.
EDIT: ... I just found an easier way. Post has been updated accordingly. Imgur's layout is a bit confusing at first, but the steps are comparable to photobuckets.
Thank you for the tamale monster and the imgur tip!
What is that thing, anyway? It rules. Yamomark?
Thank you, @poysntixels! I'm glad you askedabout him, because I just learned a lot more about the folklore he derives from and it's super interesting.
So he is one of the Gotouchi Kaiju (essentially meaning local, as in local to Japan). There's one for each prefecture (47 total). This guy is Bacillking, a foodbased monster full of natto soybeans, and he represents the Ibaraki prefect.
ITTSU x One Up made these sofubi versions. Bacillking's the second Gotouchi Kaiju in the line actually. First there was Tsun, who's been released in 2 versions so far :
So farthese are the only two monsters in the line, but I hope there's a plan to do more. It'd be awesome if they were able to do all 47. So far the prices are super reasonable for sofvi toys these days at around $40 and they seem to be produced in large enough numbers that they'd be a great line to collect.
A fun gotouchi kaiju read (it learned me) :
Gotouchi Kaiju save the environment project website :
Gotouchi Kaiju project video (you dai kaiju fans want to watch this) :
Ps: The hyper realistic toys in the video are not the same ones. Bacillking still kicks some tail tho.
I have Tsun and it is a GREAT figure. Been packed away for a while since I moved my studio, now will remain packed until after we complete our move, but he is one I have been very much wanting to shoot & share pics of. Looking forward to seeing what else they do in the line... thanks for the informative links, Japes!
I never knew I could actually learn something from Skullbrainers. Amazing.
Thanks for all the extra info on this guy, and the whole project @boon velvet! I am more of the non-natto grouping, but Bacillking (there is no way that name is coincidental ) is wonderful. So this guys is from Ittsu too then I would guess? The sofubi versions of Tsun from 1up are amazing too. Argh, the last thing I need is more toys to chase. It would/will be so wonderful to see them do the full line. I'd even love some of these done in micro/Chinamade forms as gacha monsters. Crazy mashup concept monsters (and SB) rule!!
@Johnny Black great shot! I love the depth of field in this one.
Seriously, dude, great shot! Their doom is so impending!!!
That is the nicest sweet spot with bokeh that I have ever seen I think.
Thanks brotha! I'm pretty happy with the shot wished I was more creative for shots
Another test shot with flickr this time. Hope this works!
That's pretty goddamn crafty, man. I'm sure it's only gonna get better from there!
Such a very fun and playful photo. Love it!
Got a new girl <3
