Yes, The stuff in the action figure museum is only 10% of the owners collection. It is a awesome sight if you are passing through.

Found a couple more pics of these guys. From what I've read, it looks like they'll be available at Toys'R'Us this fall:

not american, but not vinyl either. only one of my new obsessions: APES ATTACKS!
there is nothing not to love about these, except i don't have the weapons. and this figure line doesn't hide the fact they are missing their weapons to well. with the whole invisible 40oz grip and all.
these apes are from a toyline called Apes Attacks! by Mannix, out of Argentina (and i have learned packaged under different companies in different parts of the world). For a knockoff line, the heads are highly detailed and well painted, made of rubber, as are the legs. the torso and arms are plastic. there are four points of articulation: head, both arms, and waist. i love how these feel like "mash ups." i mean, high-detailed heads, the plastic mid section with metallic paint, and the rubber unarticulated legs, usually in neon colors....and with wrestling knee pads n' shorts! this company is well known (well, as well known as an unknown company can be) for making bootleg ko's of wrestling figs (hence the waist-down sculpt). i've learned that they have actually aquired and used uncirculated head sculpts for scrapped hasbro wrestling figs. and yes, the wrestling figures have the same arm sculpts, complete with the weapon holding hand, even though they were packaged without weapons. ANYWAYS, my first 3 mannix figures are from the Apes Attacks line. I've had a hell of a time hunting down weapons. i found a dude with a pretty impressive collection of mannix figures, and after contacting him, he was kind enough to e-mail me close-up shots of his apes moc collection, but told me never to reveal those pictures to the public. a couple other lines by mannix utilizing the same body mold, but with different animal heads are series with these super original, deep-thought names: Sharks Attacks! & Dinos Attacks! so yeah, after my rant, here are the apes:

i also recently scored this lot on ebay and am waiting for them to come in. this lot was an awesome find, and thankfully the seller mislisted them as another toy line:

still unsure which series some of these figures from the lot go to. but figuring it out is half the fun!

Dammit, well I congratulate you on your sleuthing, and accede that that is indeed an amazing score. That whole Mannix line is outstanding. Just seeing those pictures is getting me pretty excited  Looking forward to some more great pics once the new batch arrives.

Well, Argentina's part of the Americas...just not the US!

But who cares about geography when you scored such amazing stuff??? Each better than the last!

anyways, glad you are digging my toy posts Sanjeev. always trying to bring some toys into this artist-based section of skullbrain  .

Hell yeah. Art is what it is...but all the various bootleg toys from South America are absolutely amazing. Of course they're rip-offs, but they still add so much creativity to staple toylines we sorta take for granted in the US and other first world countries...

Now that's rockin' some seriously sweet figures. Love them all :) Nice Flash Gordon guys especially, and what is up with the pink Marshmallow Man? Has he been Sucklord-ified? And that Spike takes me back to chilhood, as does the Cap'n Crunch premium (was he a smog monster, I can't remember exactly).

For some reason, the armored dudes in the back of the first pic remind me of Power Lords.

    It's a good thing. ;)

Is the guy with the sword, and blue helm, and chain mail, some sort of Frank Franzetta tribute figure? I've never seen that anywhere... I'm guessing it could be a D&D figure, but I'm probably wrong. It just really looks like everything Frank had ever done...

dude i have been looking and the only thing i foudn so far was a heart play set on card for $40 seems a little steep for such a out of nowhere toy... if you find any or manage to score doubles let me know... i have wanted these since i was 11
