I'll be there again this year, with Mrs. Hellopike. I'll be bringing some custom goodies (I still paint the occasional toy if you were wondering)/lucky draw bag... and if all goes well, I'm hoping to debut my first toy too so if you see me, ask me What I got!
Since this is pertinent to NYCC news: RxH, Skull Toys, and Uamou are all going to be present at the Onell Design booth this year - Ayako Takagi posted the info on her blog. They'll have presales of their collaboration figures as well as other stuff, I'm sure.
Hey all- hopefully everyone’s plans to attend stay on-track and unimpeded… but I just want to put it out there that if anyone can’t make it after all, I may be very interested in picking up your passes… please PM me if that’s the case! Thank you very much!
Cool, dude! I have a few of your Glyos CC4.0 figures. Great stuff! Hopefully, I'll meet the creator of the sick Gobon I have...
If anyone going to NYCC could pick this up for me, I'd be really grateful (and can pick something up for you in Japan!).
I was thinking of snagging one for my son, think they'll be hard to get? If I can get more than one I'll pick one up for you.
That would be amazing! Thanks! But if someone doesn't want one for themselves (just in case only one can indeed be bought), it would be great too!
Just in case it is limit one per person I can try to snag one as well. I dont collect legos so it wont be hard to part with. Ans I'm sure it wont be ahrd to get rid of if it isnt needed anymore
Alright… looks like I (and Garamike) will be making the Con, after all… an offer of a Pro Pass has come my way! Hovering at about 75% certainty right now, but I’m trying to make it all work! As some of you know, I have been working on getting some new Garamania t-shirts for a while now. The company I have been working with has done two passes so far, and neither was to my satisfaction, so I’m now investigating a third company that seems able to achieve what I want. The first two passes are a color version of the Pygeister Garowley image, and a halftone B&W version; both versions have a smaller print on the back of an exploded Garamon model kit diagram. They are on Hanes tagless black tees. They aren’t horrible by any stretch, in fact they’re pretty good shirts, but they just aren’t up to snuff given what I specified to the company… so I have a whole lot of them in various sizes that I would like to move VERY cheaply, and I am thinking about bringing a bunch to the Con. I’ve never attended before, so I don’t know how backpack sales go over: how openly do people do them/display their wares? Do the organizers seem to crack down on it much? What say you, experienced NYCC attendees/backpack sellers? Advisable? Inadvisable? Thanks in advance!
any time someone announces they'll be walking around selling stuff from a backpack, I always wonder how people know who they are/ what they look like. Also, I'm introverted and antisocial, so unless it was obvious they're selling something, I probably would not approach them. Having some sort of sign though on your backpack would probably fly under the radar at the con, considering all the much weirder shit going on around you.
Yeah... I think I may be pretty easy to spot (though it is a comic convention)... for reference, here is a recent shot of me (seated with a standard human person, for contrast): I’m mainly wondering if it will be kosher to walk around holding up the shirt(s), or have cardboard-insert-stiffened samples hanging off my backpack…
OH GOD, It gets prrrretty fucking humid in the Javitts with all the nerd pheromone. I cant imagine it in that suit. Make sure Garamike has ALOT of water. AND BUY IT BEFORE YOU GET TO THE CENTER! Dont wanna spend $8 on a bottle of water inside.
"standard human person" I'd be interested, but then I would have two once the others are finally done, and one would just be sub par.
Believe me, K- I'm afraid... I'm very afraid. And you have an idea of what it's like, from seeing me in the back room at FOE. I'm thinking of borrowing a Camelbak from someone. And finding an industrial kitchen-style ice machine to periodically crawl into.
Adam (and D-No, and any Kickstarter backers, if you're reading this), your patience in waiting has entitled you to a freebie of one of these second-runs; if you see me walking 'round, please come up and grab one!
