I slept and missed out on tickets this year again. Seems to be getting a little crazier to get in every year, just like SD. Anyone bailing or know of some way me and Missy might be able to weasel our way in?
Every year that I go there's about 100 people out front selling tickets. Don't know if they're legit or not.
So… no helium balloons not affixed to booths/displays on the convention floor… there goes my dart-tagging! However, backpack sales of the Pygeister Garowley tees are a go, and as promised, here are some pics and info (with kind permission from the mods). I only managed to snap pics of the color version, and forgot to get a pic of the small design on the back side, but this should give an idea. The shirts are Hanes Tagless Comfortsoft; I have a good stock of all mens sizes, and some womens as well. Each shirt will be bundled with 2 CDs, Jongles and Pose Dead, the two albums by my dearly departed band, deepsoda. These bundles will be $15 each, $12 for skullbrainers. I’ll be arriving on Friday, a little after opening time… see you on the floor!
can any makers chime in and let us know if you'll be accepting credit/debit cards..? I usually just bring all cash but it would be nice to know.
I feel like those mini card readers for phones took off over the past year. I wouldn't be surprised if most places take cards. I was at a hardcore/punk fest over the summer, and bands were taking cards. That's weird, but I guess the way of the future
my (ex) band takes credit cards. its priceless to see the faces on merch lurkers- "i love this shirt!!! how much?" "15" "oh, bummer, i dont have enough cash, only credit card" "well- lucky for you..."
I'm listing prices so people can bring cash. Even with readers the JJC has the worst service. Last year there where 4 people who used cards and it took an hour to process it. Amy had to run outside for everyone to get service. It was horrible. Their are ATM machines inside so its all good.
With this much cash flying around, you guys better bring some decent fanny packs. Pick-pocket proof! I will give you money too.
I'll be around on Saturday with some goodies including: My first toy, the bootleg Kinnikuman/MUSCLE "Kinnikuthulhu"! I'm still waiting for them to arrive (These are test shots) but if all goes well I'll have 10 for sale- 5 In traditional Kinkeshi flesh pink and 5 in Great Old One Green! I'll have 10 custom painted Godzilla and Ultraman finger-puppets- $10 and you get one at random! Each one was painted by me! yes, I still paint toys, thanks for asking. And I'll have a few odds and ends customs too, so if you see me stop me and ask to see what I've got! If you don't know what I look like, ask someone! Also, I may have a nametag on, I'm not sure.
Just got my email from mvh!!!!! Holy cow!!!!!!! I think this is the year to be there, Jesus!!! I hate to say it, but as far as what I collect, and my personal tastes for the darker side of things...... But I think NYCC is going to dump all over this years SDCC.... I know that's prObably just me, but dag nabbit you guys are killing it this year!!!!! Hope Satan rewards all of you. He is the reason for the season...
Can we get a listing of all the toy vendors and their booths? Like Monster Island - booth 3317 O'nell - booth 3216 Super7 - booth 3009
So looks like this year the toy are is being called "The Block", here's a listing I pulled from the NYCC app (which is actually pretty good) of some booths: Lulubell/Velocitron - 3108 Mishka - 3011 Monster Island - 3317 My Plastic Heart - 3313 O'nell - 3216 Super7 - 3009 Toy Tokyo - 3303
THey always cluster all the (designer) toy booths together. If you find one, they are all neighbors. There are other action figure/anime/vintage toy booths scattered around the convention as well.
can someone pm me the PK and Lamour schedules if theyve been announced yet? I dont do that new fangled instagram and twitter stuff..
