All three of those look good in my book. Love the Uchu Man. Happy to see another Akro, sans armor. And how can you go wrong with a blue Evil?
There is way too much masking going on with that toy. I can only see two parts that were actually airbrushed, and both in the same color. Also: enough with the single-color / painted shorts releases.
Really? I think it's a nice change. With so many RxH releases out there and coming out, variation is good.
I have to agree here. I was really hoping to see an all hand sprayed Uchu mini. One can only assume that Mori-san's "specialist painter" is a bit overwhelmed with the sheer amount of releases lately....but it seems like the last OG4 handpainted figure was the Gold Chaos....which IMHO was gorgeous. We've been spoiled this year with all of the great handsprayed releases like the Kamen Rider figures, the metallic Mutant Head, shop opening Bigaro, and especially that dope ass GID silhouette Chaos. The OG4 minis especially were beautifully painted too. In the new year, I hope Mori-san finds a balance between paint masked/factory finished, and hand sprayed OG4 releases.
If it wasn't a "This Island Earth" tribute I'd agree, but for the subject matter I like it this way. I agree on masking overall though, too much lately.
I wonder if the increase in masked paint versions is due to the overload on the painters. It seems like the handpainted and masked applications would be easier to execute with less training than unmasked sprays.
yeah, I agree as well. Masking was cute for a short while, the last mutant head was it for me. other than the head, it was free-hand and beautiful. The Purple Evil is cool, but I can't do these types of figs anymore. kinda boring now. Shintosans look great mostly masked with some free-hand touches (so far).
I think it looks pretty dope... I just can't afford to buy any toys for like a year or something due to my acute vinyl debt retardedness...
I think this painted version is awesome. Unlike some of you lucky folks I haven't seen to many of the OG figures in person, but I can say from picture comparisons the masking is over the top on the newer stuff. I enjoy the light sprays on some of the older figures and I hope we see more of that this upcoming year. This particular mini looks cool masked like this, but it would be awesome to see a version with much lighter sprays and no masks.
I love the painted version although I did get this surprise in the mail today courtesy of Fig-Lab Oh so pretty
that's pretty sweet, LS. This character is pretty bad-ass... I hope Mori does a full-size soon! hmmm, but who knows if it'll be as charming as the mini. minis have that cuteness, ya know?
