 The maple glazed donut is the closest I've been to Heaven, if there is such a place.

Andy-there is an In-n-Out a cab ride away. It's worth it...

I'd hate to see what happens if you were to ever eat a good donut!

Oh good, we're back on topic. I'm nto super into Krispy Kream, I mean, I'll eat them, but not go out of my way. It's like downing a back of sugar though, not much to them. I like Dunkin only a LITTLE bit better due to variety (yes I know KK has more than just glazed, but they all suck except the glazed), but still wouldn't go nuts for their "Donuts" either.

As a kid I used to make "doughnuts" by deep frying canned biscuit dough and putting holes in them then topping them with straight sugar or cake frostng. Good times.

Oh, I think they're EASILY comparable. Sugar melts in your mouth, KK melts in your mouth, cotton candy melts in your mouth. They're just sweet. There's NO other flavor, not even texture, I don't even know I ate one 2 min. later. I might as well pound a bag of sugar straight down my throat, it's cheaper.

Dunkin, while not amazing, have options of texture and actual weight. They actually seem to be made of DOUGH. They also put something that actually resembles CREAM inside theirs, KK's put like cake frosting?! I like to know I ate something when it comes to fried dough products, it's my first meal and I need something to keep me heavy. Particualrly I like thier buttermilks.

Again, I don't LOVE DD and enjoy KK, but if I had a choice between the 2 bigguns, DD wins for me. I don't get how KK fanatics get so loyal. Hey, more KK for you though!

Yup, with KK there's NO substance. The only way I know I ate something is my stomach hurts from all the sugar. (I'm not saying I won't eat KK, but they're probably the worst donut I've ever had. Still, that's often better than not eating anything.)

Yeah, that shit is NASTY! There's been a few times when I've forgotten that KK's filled donuts are so terrible - when that's happened I actually spit it out and throw away the rest of the donut. For someone who loves baked goods, that's BAD.

I can get better donuts at Fred Meyer (big, chain, grocery/dept store).

I never get the cream filled ones, whatever is in them at KK, those I only get every so often at local small places, so I can't judge.
DD always just seems dry and too heavy to me, not the right consistency, I like that the KK glazed are light as air.
Again with devils food, the DD always seem like they feel they've been laying out for a few days where as the KK have a nice moist chocatelyness to them.
Now I want an old school chocolate iced creme stick.
(awaiting random bad quoting from that)

Sorry to derail the food thread...

Anyone hear anything about the any Rebel Inks, Salvation Inks, Dr. Mortality, etc at SDCC? Still haven't seen anything yet...

Only thing that has been announced that I can find was the Franken(Berry) Fighter.

Oh Yeah? if "in and out" is so damn good how come they haven't spread all over the country like some sort of virus like Mickey D's?

Have you guys ever eaten at American Chicken Bunker?

I have to agree audio, DD is disgusting. It might have something to do with the fact that there is one location on every corner here and that all of my coworkers drink their coffee all day, but it's terrible.

As for In N Out not "spreading like a virus", they do have locations in 4 states. Also, Jesus burgers don't spread like a virus, they spread like the word of God.

(the above is a joke for those uninitiated souls with no way of discerning humor on a message board)

    oh and also

"In-N-Out remains privately owned and the Snyder family has no plans to take the company public or franchise any units. All Associates are treated like family. Many Associates have been with In-N-Out for over 20 years, some even worked with Harry and Esther in the early years. These relationships and the commitment to the company's philosophies continue to make In-N-Out a very special place to work."

Interesting point. I live in GA aka KRISPY KREAM WORLD and though my office has DD now and then, there's almost ALWAYS KK around. I didn't like either more before I moved down here, my distaste grew as I lived here longer. Yet my desire for Chik-Fil-A grows every day and there's one every 3 blocks.

all of the KK here were closed down due to poor sales.

as i recall, one also was closed to health violations but i might be confusing that with something else.

new england is dunkin donuts territory, mostly due to the fact that their headquarters is here in MA. I personally avoid their food like the plague now because they can't guarantee that their food does not contain nut products.
it makes it easy for me because their coffee always takes like burnt dirt to me anyway. my opinion on coffee is completely moot anyway because I drink instant.

 Than it's no fun! How about starting a new thread in "Whatever" called "Krispy Kream v. Dunkin Donuts v. In-N-Out v. All the Rest" than post SDCC 09 SB news there?

OK, seriously, sorry, it did get kind of out of hand huh?

I think this is a sign of an uninteresting thread being put to use - it happens. How many threads have devolved into conversations about food? Countless. If there was something on-topic worth talking about it would have been. Instead...

    Krispy Kreme Sucks!

And honestly, this is the most interesting the SB forum has been in months.

You're in Columbus? There used to be a grocery store out in Delaware, about half an hour north. It's called Beuhlers, I haven't been there in years so I can't tell you if it's still around or the donuts are as good. But they baked all their own donuts, and they were the best I ever had. Their Boston Creme Pie was phenomenal too. Worth the trip if you're a donut junkie.

There are still Beuhlers in Ohio. And I'm unhappy and offended someone named idiot wanted a thread moved.
I moved the sb discussion to the other thread.
And if in that area there are tim hortons, I've never personally partaken, but my sister told me of getting donuts after being on call.
