There are two purple dustman a clear and an opaque. You seem to have three different ones, including two different opaque with different spray patterns. I would love to see better pictures of each. I recently completed the dust man set of 4 and am super happy to have done so. Love that weirdo

This is a weird question but does anyone else think like a lot of Buta toys look like they would glow?

@gazpacho the last Dust Monster on the right is the lavender version, plus the two darker purples. Thank you Zach and @paulk for clarifying the two purples as separate releases :D. It's night time now, but I'll post a photo of each when the daylight returns for better photos :dam:

p.s. @slipstar01 there are GID butas, both micros and standard size critters. Not many, Hayabusa Falcon Lady (pink head), yellow Pandora and Chinpee, pink Baltan, green Staiin, Grumble Toy dinos to name the ones I can remember.

I think there is also a light green GID Baltan in the other sculpt.

Also, I either never knew, or forgot, that the yellow Pandora and Chinpee were GID. That's really cool.

Ah yes, thank you Paul! I'm still chasing after the Lime Green Baltan, so I forgot he's GID.

A bit crowded - perhaps time to rearrange

As I posted in the 'display case' thread a few months ago, I finally got a display case for my collection. Before this, most of my toys had been sitting in boxes in a closet for years, and as such, a number of my buta figs were still in their packages.

I found myself faced with that funny dilemma as a collector as to whether I wanted to keep them in their bags or open them up. While I was debating this, I put these guys on the shelf still in package with their unpackaged brethren. It detracted from the overall look, but I was looking at it as a compromise while I pondered if I had the courage and willpower to free them.

Later that afternoon, I was reading some pages in this very thread that I'd either not yet read, or had forgotten about and I came across a post from Grace from 3+ years earlier that had this snippet in it:

I had gotten some sage advice from Chris through the years in PM's, but we'd never broached the 'to open or not to open' topic. As I mentioned to Grace when I told her this story, I couldn't help but smile and get a tear in my eye thinking about the timing of finding her post that shared some wise words from our dearly missed friend.

Needless to say, I unbagged the figs that same day so they could breathe freely with their fellow Buta beauties
(Well, all but my first release Buta Magular that has the bullmark style checklist in the package. Hey, I can only be so strong!)

Here's the pics of my Buta shelf. This one's for you, Chris. We miss you, buddy.

I often put my new bagged figures in my case and then open them one at a time as I wander by or take a break from painting. It’s always such a treat - that newness.

This guy arrived today - just in time for our snow day up here in New York (Catskills).

I’d buy 3 of each at those prices :)

Well… yes. Grave robbers are a concern I suppose, but the fact that these guys set me back a car payment… the true tragedy of our times!

Great cluster of goodness Jon :D. Especially the OG cave peeps. Prices on Buta are truly insane! That last wave on JYA was a humdinger. Booska Lady and Radioactive Pipi went for over 200000 JPY :x I've given up on trying to fill in the missing pieces in my herd, can't fathom dropping $2k-ish on tiny tot toys :(
