Re: Deal with it. I support simplicity too, without the extra messages. Even if these ones are temporary. I'm not really too happy with the 'attitude' any of the three have implied, as, for sure that aspect of it exists on here [unfortunately], but so does an incredibly laid back and fun one just for a love of toys - and that is the side I feel represents my Skullbrain and the reason I keep coming back here. I don't actually know which side is in the minority; nor does it matter that much. Maybe some people are ruining it for everyone, or maybe the board is just shifting focus. Change is fine I guess, I just like to know what to expect when I come to the board. *And just for the record, I am self-professed misanthrope and all-around giant curmudgeon, but not when it comes to toys.
Re: Deal with it. If it were "just toys" then there's no need for the whatever section. Please see that it is removed immediately.
Re: Deal with it. That is very creepy. But, then we would have a thread with people getting in heated arguments about why King George's version over a different one or what-not.
Re: Deal with it. It's not just toys. It's art dammit I agree with Banshee 100% why have a belittling message to your members. 99% of people here are relaxed.
Re: Deal with it. Don't all the cool kids hang on another board only to cast an occasional condescending glance at the hoï polloï squirming around down here: " chill the fuck out retards, it's only toys" Sure, coming from folks who built their lives around the damned things.
Re: Deal with it. just throwing in my preference for the logo that works best and says it all, i was thinking it was meant as a nod to brian : )
Re: Deal with it. Steve was actually mentioning that it accidentally said "Skullbrian" for a short bit yesterday evening, which was an accident.
Re: Deal with it. I laughed and the threw up a little in my mouth when I read this. Good times, SB. But yeah, glad to see the message gone. Nice grey on black works well.
Re: Deal with it. what a horrible thread title. Never clicked on it cause I thought it was more beef garbage. I loved the touch of color, is it still an option??
Re: Deal with it. The thread title is in reference to what the first iteration of the new header was, i.e. when the thread was started: Skullbrain. Deal with it.
I hereby declare the heated debate on the new thread title, open! I hope that no one is taking these 'suggestions' personally, and I definitely want to give thanks to James for making efforts to improve the board. Sure there is some 'stuck in old ways' aspect of it, which I am guilty of as much as anyone, but I think that such a small change has already generated such feedback just shows how passionate we are about the board. And I think that is really the most positive thing that could be said for Skullbrain. It is that kind of feedback and general love for what goes on here that IS the Skullbrain community. Think on it this way, an outside person coming in and redecorating or painting a home you lived in for a long time would probably come as a shock and be negatively received, even though the changes might be clearly for the better, and in time will be loved just like the old one. It's just the close connection to something that has gradually become part of your life that makes any slight shift in that environment very sensitive.
