Anybody see the black berserker that was up at mandrake? Blank with no packaging. No real detail photos. That one just sold for $1200. Skeptical mainly bc of the ones that IG seller was making a while back and haven’t seen totally blank black ones.
if im not mistaken you id do 3-6 black blanks with red cape at TAG? I loosely remember a old collector no longer apart of the community having one, and having it custom... if i recall those had doll eyes in it, and i didnt see the mandarake post, so unsure if those had doll eyes or not. edit: 5. Creature Feature at TAG... 9 seconds in...
The Mandarake listing was plain black with no cape or eyes. No other identifying stuff (header, bag).
I didn’t have doll eyes. It’s hard to say it’s legit, it didn’t feel right though. Too close to the bootlegs.
leave it to the experts I'm a big fan of blank figures and it is really sad to have to deal with these scammers. Mostly bc I assume we aren't going to see any MVH blanks any time soon. Maybe more due to the ill paint applied to them but still. Sucks. Maybe we'll see a new berserker release sometime soon
Yeah, bootleggers and an uncountable amount of poor customs really made me think twice about selling blanks.
well the no eyes would throw me off yeah, no cape wouldnt be too much of a bother... its crazy how many sams change hands missing knives and shit. or dx's that have accessories in general. one person was trying to sell a Harley Quinn DX I heard and insisting that it did not come with a gun accessory, when it most certainly did.
There has to be people on this board that have purchased a bootleg. I'm genuinely interested in the quality even though I don't collect a majority of the offerings. They look really good.
I know four peeps that came up on some blank boots and they’re all pretty happy with ‘em. Noticeable differences in hands from what I was told, but nothing deterring. No complaints from them in regards to quality, though. I’d like to know what the joints look like, but none of them want to take the time to heat ‘em up and pull ‘em apart for my sake.
The quality is shite. Joints are loose and the torsos always looks squished which puts the arms at a stupid angle. The stamps are still pretty shite too even after a few attempts. Tell you what. DM me and I'll send you the boot I ended up with so you can see the lack of quality and pop it apart if you'd like. Maybe document it all with photos for the people here to better avoid this bootleg nonsense? I'll even pay the return shipping, if I want it back.
Your friends @xSuicide Squadx and @Waterbear, you guys talking about the MVH blanks? I personally am curious about the RxH and Synapse blanks. Blanks aside, their paint is awful, just from what I can see in photos.
@nicholasfung None of them got MVH boots that I know of. Hirota, Nag and somethin’ else I can’t remember at the moment. @Waterbear I’ll get at you in just a bit!
Hold onto your hats, boyos I actually own none of the Buta guys above, so I can't compare. But it would be tragic if the work was beginning to be bootlegged. That said I'm surprised at this selection, and actually doubtful that these are boots at all. There are many, many Buta toys that command higher prices, and you can find all of the above (minus Jirass) at $100-ish per toy with a little digging. His last sale post said "all original" too (whatever that's worth) so maybe these are off the table. But maybe watch out next time you find a deal on a Griffon or Ultra.
If you remember back to when he used my photo of Recyclec custom MVH and wrote SALE over it, I don't even know if there is any expectation that the photos shown above are even his.
I only have a couple of those Buta but looking at my shelves these look genuine to me. however as Max says this doesn’t mean he actually has them to sell.
I would guess he's just putting Buta photos out there to gauge interest. If he gets enough dm's about them then he'll try knocking them off. Or he's just being a dick.
Most likely, those Butas have already been knocked-off but he puts that photo to make it more attractive to his potential victims.
