Oddly enough, the real ones are a clear blue vinyl as well. But, the authentic stuff is so much more rich it’s difficult to notice looking at photos, unless someone holds it up to the light. this shat looks like it’s made out of gummy bears.
Sorry I can never get instagram to properly display here, but noticed the upcoming Akihabara auctions, is auctioning off a pair of bootleg Nags and either blatantly not disclosing they are bootleg or ignorantly unaware, which is hard to believe. Pretty shady business.
"Are you sure they're boots? I had planned on bidding on them." The JR release was blue... Thank you Joe, you really don't expect to get f@cked at an auction.
@JoeMan here is your instagram link: View this post on Instagram This guy has been all over Reddit promoting the auctions: https://www.reddit.com/user/Ok_Perspective_8217
Are we sure they are bootlegs? Because if so then we should start commenting that on the reddit posts. I'm sure they would just delete those comments if left on IG.

Yes, the mixed part with painted head was never released, and he has never put one of the newer heads on the original body, but bootlegger Zheng did that many times. The painted is a copied paint application, but the Johnny ryan run was blue not green, and that is even a bootleg header.

After you mentioned this, I looked at the photos again, and they don't stand flat footed, it's been noted in this thread several times that the bootlegs all suffer from that same devect. My 4 eyes stands flat on it's feet. Edited to say thank you again. I expect this from Yahoo.jp, not an auction house. I don't think it's a malicious attempt on their part. They have a lot of real toys theyre selling. Also they didn't delete my question about it on their instagram page. They sent me more photos of them. If they're fakes, (which I believe they are) Zhengs craftsmanship is on a whole new level.
I don't know anything about NNN, so won't profess to comment on that here, but does anyone have any experience with this Akihabara Auctions? It's a complete new one to me. Is it open to international bidders? I don't know about the designer stuff, out of my wheelhouse, but looking at some other listings their pricing estimates are all over the place, ranging up to the highly absurd.
Not bought from them but yes they do international sales. For some reason you need to submit ID to register. That, plus the often steep opening prices means I 'm out. Not remotely interested in anything NNN either.
I totally missed the end of these auctions. Do you have had to have been registered already to view the final end bids? (sorry, not sure how it works, and seems like I am still only seeing the estimated sale values)
I snagged a toy through this, so I watched the whole thing, I'll log back on and let you know. They ended up going for 2,450,000 yen plus an additional 15% plus taxes and shipping. So right around 3 million yen The next highest was a 1967 Marusan Booska for 1,250,000 yen plus-etc.
You can line up the corresponding numbers to their catalog. A lot of things didn't even get bid on, but it didn't seem like there was a huge turnout of people bidding. Untitled by Michael McGowan, on Flickr Untitled by Michael McGowan, on Flickr
Ignorance, they haven’t seen the market absolutely collapse over the last year or so. And still think it’s red hot. A handful of artists still being super high prices, like Nag, but even their prices have drastically dropped. The reality is this auction should have been a mandarake sale.
