With the price of these bootlegs, might as well save up a little more and buy the real thing... Or just wait for future releases...

This is freaking crazy! Not even know how I feel about this as I am a Hardcore DX collector. Wonder how second market will be affected over this. Hope people are patient to get a legit DX and don’t support this guy buying a bootleg. I am so curious to see one in person though just to see quality.
The dude that’s bootlegging these has posted stacks and stacks of yuan 100’s in an attempt to persuade collectors to sell their Nags and MVH, which has worked to somewhat of a degree. He’s also posted videos of his dog rolling and through so many bills that they completely covered his floor. Total chump.
The interpol need to arrest this fucker and put him in jail for stealing other peoples property and selling it. From the one year of collecting, I have learned that all designer vinyl goes through the careful process of planning, design, producing, advertising, production, quality control, market management and distribution. Every little bit is extremely important to the artist, the fans and the sofubi society, but this just ruins everything. This is a serious crime, and needs to be punished very heavily so it never happens again.
Whoever is behind these boots could not possibly do all the labor involved alone, to produce the quality acheived. Yes, they have flaws but minor ones. Usually with bootlegs more flaws and distortions occur. These ones look top notch and had to be the work of several hands. Some very knowledgeable folks did this work. Too bad they did not make their own monsters. My point may be moot since dumbasses and those who do not care will buy the bootlegs. Those folks buying these truly suck since it will lead to many more bootlegs and an increase in hostility towards Chinese. Predictable and sad
Well to be fair... the instagram I swiped these from is called "sofubi_china_888" I'm guilty of what can be perceived as being "hostile" towards Chinese but it's foolish for anyone to read it as being a blanket statement against the larger population. The fact is that this guy is Chinese, he's bootlegging the toys - there's a very high chance that these are being produced in China (I heard somewhere that he had approached a few local factories until he found someone who was either unaware of MVH/Nag or just didn't have any ethics) so I think it's fair to direct the conversation toward China. As referred to before, copies of Nag, Bemon etc have happened before but they were resin minis. Not much, but at least some tiny bit of creativity went into making those pieces. These counterfeit Nag/MVH toys are being made with malicious intent and money on the mind. These are straight-up counterfeit. It's almost a compliment to refer to what's going on here as bootleg. Bootlegs can be cool - certain Target Earth figures I would label as "bootleg" and they are cool as hell! It's going to be interesting to see who/what shows up at the Fuckaiju (lame event name) show in a couple of weeks in Hong Kong.

I still don't see a bunch of shitty unpainted bootlegs from an obviously super-shady account as being "the tip of the iceberg". I spent 30 mins. on IG and it seems this is someone with a personal agenda, apparently a disgruntled ex-fan..?? Of course there will be some morons buying these, just like some people pay flipper prices because they desperately want to be a part of something and "be cool". And of course it's Nag & MVH getting bootlegged and not Grody or Elegab...
Just curious, but would a group effort to flag all these posts as spam actually generate any action from IG?
A bunch of us posting "This Is Fake" comments to each photo would probably help to make unsuspecting buyers beware.
Until today I have not seen anyone who has one of these bootlegs, I remember having read in some forum probably IG right now I do not remember, someone who had bought his first MVH figure and commented that the vinyl was very light and apparently he felt a little disappointed with the quality of the piece, now I think he was a victim of someone who sold one of these bootlegs as an original piece. For me that is the biggest problem; that they pass these pieces as originals and sell them at the same market price as an original, since most people or many of the collectors have never seen one of these pieces in person do not have a point of reference to know if they are being victims of a scam.
What are you talking about...I am bootlegging the hell out of Grody toys as we speak. I was admiring my wonderfully derpy ojisan just yesterday...and then I made 1000 copies On a serious note, while the fact this is occurring is seriously fudged up and should be dealt with harshly, I agree @bunnyboy it's not widespread. At least not yet with these particular lines. There certainly seem to be plenty of KAWS bootleggers, if that's any indication of where it's heading with these lines, though. Where there's a will, etc etc
How can you even fight this? I imagine it is super hard if not impossible to try and take legal action as an independent toy maker when these bootleggers are in China.
