^ I'll spare the masses, but I'll have to tell you the story of how I used to spin this little tune called Asia Minor in public all the time back in the late '90s. Another something I was big on in '96: EDIT - Oops, posted that one already viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17581&p=884547&hilit=sotd#p884547 Serious veer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjjcGLbsebA GET BACK by BIG FREEDIA / Stereolab "Metronomic underground"

Could! Among the many wee (or in the case of this one, then wee) record labels that I grabbed everything I could get my hands on from back then was Merge. Their Bio Ritmo release really hit me right at the time, and I spun it constantly at my bartending gig or when I was DJing shows. I probably hadn't thought about those two songs for a decade, maybe longer, until a week or so ago when, as has been happening to me a lot lately, I got this flash of forgotten music while I was on a bike ride. Took me a few days to figure out what the hell I was remembering and who it was by. Once I looked into it I made some very surprising discoveries about this punk-ass salsa band. Chief among them? Apparently, Rei, we met a couple of decades ago! I'll confess that the tune I remembered, the side I played way more than the flip, was the instrumental one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-PKDXZAFj4 No offense.
