Ditto that, great post Brian. Retail is one of the most stressful, fast paced industries to work in. Not to mention, in most cases, it's the less rewarding career a person can have for the amount of time you put in and stress you have to endure. It's hard for individuals who have never worked in that environment to understand. I applaud S7 for what they've accomplished. All the staff members I've dealt with have been top notch, I can't say that for most stores I deal with.
I disagree with alot of what Brian posted, but rather than air it here, I have instead written him privately. I did not ask for any special treatment. I went to S7 the day before the sale and was told the sales would be exclusively through the webstore with no exceptions. I stated then and still think now that SF S7 should have sold first to locals, because we are the ones who come to the local events and support the store locally. That is why there are distributor stores -- not just one store from which all the toys are sold. That is my OPINION. And, I was happy to see that Stealth took interest posting info on the release, but disheartened that it did not come from "my local store". I complained about this and instead got "you cannot always get everything you want!" Well that is true for everyone, but did not truly address my complaint, instead it is a dig at me. It is like saying that I do not like the government health plan and getting, "you cannot always get what you want", rather than legitimately addressing the complaint. And, I have retail experience and more in my past. I understand the environment very, very well. Anyway, I won't say more here because it is not productive, and I do not want further misinterpretation, instead I have addressed this and more directly to the boss. Carry on. . .
I can understand getting used to the local treatment, but from what I have been told from most toy/art shops is online sales keep there heads above water(not saying S7 is the same) and everyone deserves awsome toys so it is a hard balance to maintain, I live in cleveland which has zilch as far as good toy stores go(hopefully changeing soon) so you win some(my lucky bag) and you loss some (pink muskamoot), so count your blessings if you live within distance of a good store, just imagine how toy junkies in alaska feel... cold at the moment
From where I am standing it looks to me like this was a successful release. I can't wait to see all the pic as people get there bags in the mail. I got the standard bag but I need that clear Deathra (mine was black with a pink eye) next time in case of collector meltdown click here: http://popup.lala.com/popup/576742249013739967 then wait until I get in on Monday and try not to drive Alex and Josh crazy in the meantime.
Wait, instead of a clear Deathra with pink eye you got a black Deathra with pink eye? Pics? I only thought there was 1 crouching Deathra, the clear. Damn! That crouching Deathra MAKES the bag BTW along with the micro Zag. I know I said that already, but shoot, looks like we need to get back onto talking about the toys.
Wasn't really too bothered I missed out until now That yellow Mibora is amazing!!! Now all I need is to see is some nice Hedorans to upset me more!
