    I know! There's a similar one for 85000 JPY! There must be something special about it? (other than being extremely cute! :) ) Plus I think the eyes are unusual, no?

    The sculpt is very similar to the other Marusan mini (without the googly eyes); he comes in a few different colour variations. I that maybe the Kaiju Ken mini/omake might be based more than a little on this, as well as the M1 pendants, which also incorporated the googly eyes.

    And, I don't think they are always that crazy either Grace (so there's still hope!). Take, for example, this version that sold on Mandarake for a fraction of the price (16,200円).

    The Cisco Marusan pendant and mini were promotional prize items for buying chocolate or gum. The mini puppet was a over the counter type prize and the pendant was a mail way ticket prize. The pendant was harder to win. Yuji 1997 toy book list both at a value of 10,000 yen. The color code listed for the mini is in green meaning it may go as high as 10,000 yen but can certainly be value much less. Current prices I see for the mini you can buy them depending on the color version from 4,000 yen to 7,000 yen. The pendant I have been chasing. I see them at auction end between 15,000 to 20,000 yen.

    I have the Cisco Marusan mini puppets.

    Wow, thanks Anthony! yeah, those are the two I had seen, but I had no knowledge of all the extra information on them. Man, this is such a good place sometimes. Thanks for sharing all the details, Anthony.

    Well now. Ultimate beautiful goods is sure accurate. Wow. Makes you wonder how he stayed so minty fresh all these years but without any package. Opened up and encased right away in bubble wrap? You are right, he is just so sparkling mint. A hefty investment for a toy, particualrly one that might not be considered all that rare, but as condition is a massive issue for a lot of Japanese collectors, I can see this being very welcomed by a lot of TM and vintage toy fans. Lovely to see.

    Yikes. She is a gem, don't get me wrong, and as much as I would love to have a Venus pachi or otherwise, since so few toys of her were made, I just couldn't see myself approaching that either. She is sure a nice toy, though. I often wonder what the collections look like of these 'big bidders,' particularly for all the still-bagged items. Somehow, it just doesn't seem as fun to me as seeing these toys lined up together - one look at Scott's shelves will tell you all you need! ^o^

    @Alebrije

    I'm not sure how rare the magular is. I know it's not a common figure and that price is in line with what the ones I'd been watching went for over the past year or so. It sure is a beauty. One of my favorite vintage sculpts.

    Thanks for your comments Paul!
    Recently I saw the B-CLUB reprinting with a different color way (black and silver) and also cheaper. I was tempted to take it, but for some reason I feel that does not have the same charm of the vintage.
    Best regards!

    I agree about the charm of the vintage colorway. There is another vintage colorway that is harder still to find (I think it's navy vinyl with black spray, but if someone more knowledgeable knows otherwise, please correct me if i'm wrong on the colors), but I prefer the colorway in the pic you posted.

    B-Club has also done another colorway on pink vinyl with silver that is pretty nice. I couldn't find any reference pics and don't want to derail too much in this vintage thread, but it's worth looking for if you want something cheaper, or as a place holder.

    I was watching that one too. Not that I could play in those leagues, but I was interested to see what it would end at. They are great toys. The funny thing is, to me anyways, this is a instant KR (at least hero) collection, but I imagine most people who are fans and/or vintage collectors have a few already, but I guess it is more about getting certain ones (Amazon, likely) or those headers. A wonderful lot in any case, not as crazy as most auctions, for five great figures.

    Love the interior gut design for RB. Wish more companies would do that instead of the paper guts.

    That would be so great, but I think it is such a cost/production issue to do so. But for modern companies, who are already spending much more to make 'high-end' crafted toys, with lots of detail and small runs (compared to the vintage numbers anyways), I have suggested a few times I am surprised it is not something anyone has taken on yet. Medicom seems like an ideal candidate, with their approaches to 'tuned' vintage repros.

    Holy monkey balls! That's one expensive finger puppet. I know certain harder to get Osato finger puppets are expensive and can reach between 10,000 to 15,000. But wow on that Eleking ending price.
