love the kaiju boy! such a fun figure!
Agreed! Kaiju Boy really took me by surprise, since it seems to marry both of Sunguts' sculpting styles in one toy. You get both the slightly gnarly textured kaiju and the smooth cutesy human in one sculpt.
There wasn't any crazy line-ups for Sunguts at DCon this year. It was pretty casual. He also held a single lottery each day for the giant figure, and Friday and Saturday there were only 2 people who showed up for it on each of those days. Sunday it looked like 6 people showed up for the lottery. Although it was not the usual feeding frenzy for his stuff, he sold lots and had a good time, so he'll be attending next year's DCon for sure.
Honestly though it was nice just to go up and pick a toy out without a huge crowd of Ppl breathing down your neck.
Edit: wrong thread.
You fuckers are sooo lucky
But, even though i will never be able to attend, its great to see real collectors able to buy Sunguts toys without being gouged by flippers. It brings a tear to my eye >sniff<
Honestly being able to talk to the man that made the toys was the best part. When I told him I was a new collector that liked his work and listed off a few of the toys over the last year and a half I got from him he was utterly delighted. It's cool giving the artist there due respect in person.
I got a orange clear platypus. much shnazzy
Loved getting some saurus and the frill shark this time around. Almost won the lottery for the big guy too on the final day, missed by one.

Those are some beautiful Betasaurus versions. Congratulations. You can’t shake a stick at that Frilled Shark either. Happy to have a friend pick 1 of those up for me.
RaBorn is a thing of beauty.. A massive, glorious hunk of soft vinyl beauty!
I believe he's now the biggest toy in my collection!
And second photo for size reference. Even topping his Godzilla's already toppling size!
Preview of new head sculpt for Shin Godzilla. Most likely for next year Winter Wonder Fest.
I'm going to do my damndest to get one of those beauties. His Shins are my absolute favorite sculpts of the beasts.
Goddamn monster. Hopefully some make it to next Five Points as well.
Anyone here attending this upcoming wonderfest? Would love to hook up a mule for some various pieces dspending on what he has available before I turn directly to yja.
The Shin godzillas sunguts has put out are some of my favorite goji sculpts in recent years, chunky and cute with great polish and attention to joints.
Sunguts always make unique URLs for his next event. And they're not clickable on IG, but they have all the previews of the available pieces.
bit the bullet on yja for the newest form 2 and form 3 godzillas, and thinking about getting his newest shin godzilla since its tax return season
Same here. The screaming fourth form is an absolute standout to me and I don't think there will be a way for me to get it directly from Sunguts, short of travelling to Japan.
the screaming fourth form might be my favorite sculpt right now, the prices on yja are not that bad considering his size and are reflective on what most toy makers are changing these days for a toy that size
For the record, this one's on a brown vinyl base. Probably the hardest form to photograph that I own so far, but man, what an imposing toy.
The most recent releases of the Shin Godzilla 2nd to 4th forms for Character Fest on Dec 1, 2019.
That Garamon is fantastic!
That is a sculpt of, as I understand it, the very last onscreen use of the original Gara-suit, in an episode of Redman. This is after two Garamon outings, two Pygmon outings... thing had been beat to shit by that point, but they slapped it into... some... kinda... weird, elongated, smoothed-out new incarnation for that episode. (I have showed this clip to my wife, and upon seeing the suit in this shape, she said, "Awwww.... poor thing!") Not sure a toy has ever been done of it, which makes this even sweeter.
