I'll give the Canadiens full marks on the opening ceremonies visuals. Pretty cool even if they are a little over the top. I don't get the kid walking out on the ice with the torch though, is that the ghost of Canadian cups of the past? Kidding...
With the price of tickets being what it is, they better give them a good show! Great game again. Rask and Price are stellar. And we're about even with the HOW DID HE EVER MISS THAT EMPTY NETs.
B's are really off their game again tonight. Nothing is going right and the Canadiens are making them pay dearly for any mistake. Should I do what helps the Bruins the most? Turn off the game and then I'm really surprised when they come back to tie it up? LOL Christ on a tricycle, if I were Claude Julian I'd go into that locker room and just say: "So what's up with you guys? Wasn't the game plan to NOT play a 7th game? You guys must love some game 7's!" I mean really my Mom could play better hockey than this and if you handed her a stick she'd go "WTF is this?"
Hehehe. You'd make a great coach. We all knew it was going to seven right from game 1. Will be fun! My wife would love for the Habs to lose.
We're all coaches in our own minds. My g/f so hopes the Bruins lose so her ongoing nightmare of what do you want to do, oh wait you're watching hockey again?! will go away.
Wow. Just Wow. I cannot believe the Rangers came back from being down in the series 3 games to 1 to win it in a game 7? I don't like either team but I almost feel bad for the Pens. Blanked 4-0 in the conference finals last year and then an epic collapse this year. You have to wonder if some heads are going to roll on this?
Indeed. Lack of depth, maybe? I have to say either a B's/Pens or Habs/Pens match-up would have been fun, but hey, Original Six all the way! now for Chicago to go through...
Haha screw the Penguins, now if only boston can lose then I really wouldn't care who wins! I just know I didn't want the Penguins or boston to win it.
Crappy officiating but it was a great series. I thought for sure the Bruins would win and maybe even take the cup but now it is red, white, and blue versus bleu, blanc, et rouge. At least this hasn't been a boring post season.
all good things must end, I look forward to the fall ! You haven't always been good. I remember when the patriots were a joke. I'm sure it will happen again after brady leaves!
Doesn't matter cause right now we still rule. Nobody has done what the big 4 teams have done in the last 10 years. Also I think you mean when Brady retires, not leaves.
Not to take anything away from the Canadiens because they played their game, capitalized on their chances, and Price was solid as a rock- BUT the Bruins beat themselves. That dominant team that I watched all season did not show up in this series. Sure we saw flashes of it but they consistently let the Habs get in their heads. Instead of focusing on the game and dictating the play they basically were like putty in the Canadiens hands never letting any after whistle scrum go, trying to destroy every Montreal player, not focusing on the game they way they should. While I love that style YOU need to have the lead first, and the Bruins proved they could not even bury the puck on many open nets. Live and learn and thank fuck Seidenberg will be back next year. That back line is way too green to go deep. I also think Thornton & Chara have lost too many steps and are starting to look old sadly. Marchand hasn't done much since winning the cup (perhaps he won it too early in his career?)
I Agree with you, The Habs played there best hockey but the bruins help them with the lack of certain player. I never notice how Chara is slow, He seemed hurt or something. Diddn't like the punch thrown by Marchand on Plekanec. Like you said, focus on stuff like that and not the game is why Bruins lost. Bring on the Rangers, it's gonna end in 5 games
Yeah Marchand should have done less pest stuff and more burying the puck. He's a very capable goal scorer but he didn't do anything in either series at all (Detroit or Montreal). Rumor has it Chara might have broke his foot on one of the shot blocks in game 6. At least thats what NBC was hinting at last night...Still he looked like he lost a step or two. 37 is a lot older in hockey player years than you think (no matter how well you train) given the physical style of the Bruins play.
You have to feel bad for the Bruins. As Chris said, they sort of crumbled. While Rask was not terrible, nor was he his Vezina-winner self. Chara... Well the number of times he fell during game 7 was plain weird. Remember that time Gallagher barely touched him during a face-off and he crumbled? I thought he was trying to cheaply draw a call, but I'd regain some respect for him if he was indeed hurt. As for the Rangers, I'm a lot more confident than I was vs the Bruins! Habs vs Hawks... Would be fun!
