Very excited about this Return of Ultraman-themed drawing practice/sketchbook...
...which spotlights the infamous fight between Jack and...Keronia
...and ends with dreamy interpretations of some friends, (not the) least of which is a shorn Gyango!
I received this fantastic artbook, highly recommended :
Help needed! I couldn't resist picking this up for a reasonable price. The seller didn't know where it came from, and didn't have anything else like it in stock.
Hachibun Co Ltd. Among the plastic crab, turtle, and beetle (each containing an ancient chocolate egg under the shell) toys, there is an aircraft carrier and... a Gudon!
I assume this is a pachi Gudon, but were there any known runs using solid plastic? This looks and shares the same weight with something like a Marx dinosaur. No markings that I can discern aside from the red mail box toy, which has a 日 stamped on the underside.
My translating skills are limited!
* update: legendary IGer #pachikaiju helped kickstart a search for more examples and figures from this series. I like the all-monster/dinosaur packages, but still happy about the aircraft carrier
LOVE that header art!
Was gonna put this in the regular thread, but was unsure if resin was allowed(even if this sculpt has been cast as soft vinyl numerous times).
Me want more Honoo.
When did they make resin Honoos?
Leecifer has been making them with a friend by hand, I believe.
They’re all one of a kind(some are a little similar but due to the nature of resin, always have variations). He just basically uses the Super 7 sculpt with no articulation.
Cool (bilingual!) making-of book from the Keizo Murase-advised/designed Howl from Beyond the Fog Kickstarter campaign
Too rich for my blood at the time and still would be for something like this, but I wish I could have funded the tier for the Nebula toy. It looks like only 6 were produced. 50cm, ¥50,000
A neat lenticular TV set, depicting Zazahn vs. Detton (I think)!
This might be a favorite new thing, a set of HB pencils
Picked up a pair of these beautiful little stoneware cups from Calvin Ma. They are called Tori Yunomi, "Bird Cup", and are miniature, less-detailed versions of his "Blend In" bird sculptures. I'm keeping one cup for hot drinks and whiskey, and one for display with the toys.
Got this old bottle from Skinner today.
The top is crooked, it's filthy inside, I imagine he finds them on the beach or in stranger places. I love it.
Went a little crazy lately. Got myself a giant version of my favorite robot Grendizer aka Goldorak (in French). Totally indulging in nostalgia as I dreamed to have one of those since I was a kid. (Motango is there for scale)
Sticker/Decal sheet. Love.
My Hootin Hollow, back working, after multiple trips back across to the USA.
Here is a video of it working, taken by the repair shop - for some reason, I cannot embed it, nor can I seem to get the sound working
Considered to be one of the most complex Marx tin toys to repair, after three attempts by an 'expert', I'd say this was a fair assessment.
I knew if I went down the nostalgia road I would get into trouble.
This big boy just arrived. Neca 1/4 40th anniversary Alien. Cat for scale.
Medicom Toy x Undercover x P.A.M. skull in hand “toy”. Also picked up the white skull and black skull versions.
Metropolis, Maria, Super7 ReAction, Hollow Press, Tetsunori Tawaraya
More delicious resin. Wanted this guy for a very long time! Thank you IronPaw!
Le Dernier Cri (finally) updated their websites and shipping policy, making it much easier to get crazy silkscreen madness from them. If you are into that sort of thing, I strongly recommend checking them out!
Here is what arrived this morning
edit: better image quality so you can see what's happening.
^ Oh, the DC NAROK comp! Deeeeep pockets, mang.
Epoxy clay Man-Potato by Sad Salesman (Eric Althin)
Nice grip @nico000! Love a big package from Le Dernier Cri. I have a bunch of old Hospital Brut books and an Evil Moisture book + some weirdo DVD's I grabbed from them on tour in France many years ago.
