Yeah I did everything in my power to make sure I had funds available when these were offered. The 1972 Bandai is just about impossible to find for under a mint so getting a repro was a no brainer. I've tried to score the bootleg vintage version and lost 5 auctions in a row, so I said fuck it. I like the black wings on the repro. Absolutely ecstatic over these! The wings are much stiffer than I had anticipated. I thought they would be that cheap rubber/plastic darth vader star wars action figure style cape but they seem to be more vinyl.

 

Totally agree, they are awesome! Definitely among the best stuff I've seen this year (together with the Secret Base Go Nagai releases).

Totally stoked. this thing rocks.
8.5 inches tall at the top of the crown. off-white, minty tint vinyl with a really interesting greeny spray. looks like it has seen a few showers and started to grow life.

 

what can I say? I dig T9G's work.

I have a vintage dogface, but the vintage Devilman is out of reach for me.
I think these are great despite some hating reissues and such.

 

here are some quick comparisons, the new manga version is much shorter, and less thunder thighs.


comparison of the bandai, noticible difference is lack of whistle hole, and the other holes in the back.
The markings on the boot are different.
size and everything else is spot on.
