    mine too. I have this grey molded / green painted guy. The most recent one is red molded. Are there more than that?

    Ok, maybe not quite JUST got in the mail ... but I'm slow getting photos together.

    This Eyezon was masterfully painted by obsessedpanda using vivid blue gradations on top of a white vinyl base, and a ghost pearlescent dusting everything to tie it all together. Also some nice brush detail with the silver spikes, and the blood red eyes. This color scheme was inspired by the shapeshifter in Thing From Another World as it was described in the original novel Who Goes There? (included some images below of a couple of my favorite interpretations).

    Wasn't until I actually owned one, that I realized how cool Eyezon looks from other angles. You so often see photos of them straight on, it's easy to miss the great detailing on the back.

    LOVE that largest spike and the other 3 eyes!

    I always love Campbell's original tale (long before I associated it with the movie version) since I read in a collected pulp sci-fi paperback. Those are some fantastic interpretations of the creature, although I'd seen that chymera-esque drawing before, the book cover is a new one to me. Thanks for posting!

    I am sure you are probably aware, but Dark Horse (in 2006?) did a sort of pre-painted model kit based off of the Classics Illustrated artwork, done up in an 'Aurora' style box.

    It was actually quite affordable at the time (but I am more of a toy guy than model, so never ended up jumping on one), but not sure how hard they are to track down these days.

    Isn't he just such an incredible beauty? Few pieces of vinyl have been so epically chunky and enjoyable in hand as that M1maquette. So happy for you on the adption J-L! :) I am really glad he arrived safely and now will enjoy many fresh adventures.

    Thank you all so much! Yeah, something about that Eyezon.... just doesn't have a bad angle. The waste swivel adds more dynamic pose potential than you would think for such a chonky space potato.
    Also, obsessedpanda's paints really play nice with multiple lighting sources. It's standing on a light table, getting hit with a regular overhead incandescent , and just a little side-lighting from a blue party light.

    Just wish all the photos I took worked like that :o

    This set was on eBay not too long ago from a great seller that always had a low starting bid. I got the best deals from her. This set got a little out of hand tho for me but I def remember bidding on it. It’s a no brainer. Awesome set.
