The robot arrived today. The colours looked better in the promo shot, a lot more subtle. It's a shame, I was getting pretty excited about this one.
Specially at 3000 yen a pop - the painted one is pretty killer. If you tire of him Mondo, I will gladly work him invite him over to my house.
From the Blog, the Original Space Trooper Sculpt is Retired quote: I have finished shipment of SR-01 without any disturbances. Most of the Space Trooper fans know that the VX Radioactive Contamination Version was the 30th Space Trooper. While I was packing orders from customers, I came up with thousands of thoughts about Space Troopers. It is about my sincere appreciation to all of the Space Trooper fans for their great support and thought about how crazy I am for making 30 different Troopers in such short period of time. I believe that 30 is the good place to break the series. As I mentioned about a changeover of the story, I am here to declare that we are moving into the beginning of Space Troopers Season 3. I just want to tell you the synopsis of the Season 3… A story goes around the battle between the Space Troopers and Kaizer Gear (SR-01)-led the Robot Empire. In order to eliminate Space Troopers, Kaizer Gear used robot factory in a planet Metal and mass produced strong robot soldiers. Space Troopers got a deadly blow from these robot soldiers that have more fighting strength. To change the war situation, Space Troopers decided to reinforce themselves with many new armors and weapons. But a tragedy of this war has created a new terror… The package of Space Trooper series will be changed from cans to regular plastic bags. This happens due to many requests from fans. And also consider the size of robot figure; it doesn’t fit into cans anymore. From the Season 3, designs and size of the products will make the giant leap from the former Troopers so stay tuned with Toygraph and Space Trooper world. Thank you.
Or Mr. Flynn's Ghost Trooper? I wonder if it will still be a part of the story in Season 3. The new robot soldier looks promising though.
I'd liked to have scored at least one Death13 head before the plug got pulled. Oh well, maybe there will be more in Season 3. And speaking of that, anyone care to reprint the synopses for the first two seasons?
Hmm, not sure if I dig the new one based on that image. I'm also kind of glad that Space Troopers have been killed off. It's nice to see a great line come to an end, kind of refreshing in a way.
Interesting, this new toy. Maybe it's the lighting or the resolution, but it seems to have a really awkward stance. And I like it. What little I can see of it. I'd love to see Toygraph use some sculpting skills to do some more raw/traditional sculpts in the vein of Amapro, Bearmodel, etc. Either way, something about this new design really interests me.
I just realized what the body type / pose reminds me of: JLU action figures (not Steel in particular, but he's a good example).
I just got the death13 figures the other day...and if that's the last of the og troopers (shipping wise, anyway), then they went out with a bang...they're up there with my favorites in the whole space gang.
Looks to me like the OLD 70's Timmee Toys plastic robot. It was green with a clear plastic domed head just like this one (as it appears in the fuzzy B&W pic at least).
Cool way of looking at it. I was actually wondering recently about how far they were gonna go. I love the Space Troopers I have (only about a dozen), but I'm not really sure I want too many more. I think I'm good. ...However...I *was* hoping they'd make a GID Death13 head...I'm a GID-only guy, and I have at least a couple glowies of each head sculpt so far...
